Southern Living Slow-Cooker Cookbook (2006, Hardcover)

This is one of the few slow-cooker cookbooks that I've purchased that contains so many great recipes. There are also regular recipes (non slow cooker) to compliment the slow cooker recipes listed... all showcased in a wonderfully illustrated book. Even though you can purchase this fantastic book on half.com for a fraction of the original price, it's every bit worth the regular cover price of $24.95. A perfect gift for the busy people in your life who don't have time to cook but want raving good meals to serve to their friends and family. I made the Green Bean Casserole for Thanksgiving (which is a slight bit different than the traditional recipe)and was pleasantly surprised when it was the first dish that disappeared! Since today is New Year's Day, I currently have, "Hoppin' John's Chowder" (also from the book) simmering as I'm writing this and I wish you could smell the wonderful aroma that's currently floating around my house!

Slow-Cooker Cookbook, I am a Cookbook collector, also a big fan of all Southern Living cookbooks. I think the recipes in this cookbook are "makeable" even for the average person.

I collect cookbooks and especially love hard-cover books. This book is beautiful from the front cover to the back. The illustrations inspire you to cook and the ease of slow cooker cooking make it simple to do. I have already made a few recipes from this book and so far we are three for three. Very delicious!

This is the fourth Southern Living cookbook I have purchased. The recipes are always taste tested and modified until they pass the panel's requirements before being published. Also, having the prep and cooking times listed for each recipe lets me know how much time is needed. Their recipes have never let me down.

wanted some slow cook recipes and Souther Living always has some quality recipes. Very good.! There are so few good of these around.

Good SLAH item. Bought on ebay because it was less expensive than buying at SLAH show. Great for busy mom.

We've only had the cookbook for a few weeks, but have tried several recipes. There are very good and simple to make, following the instructions. We have not found any negative features, so far. We got a good bargain on e-bay. I would recommend this book.

I have always loved Southern Living cookbooks, but a lot of the recipes are complicated. Not in this book! These are pretty much fail-safe, go-to recipes you can use over and over! Highly recommended!

I was hoping for more recipes in the 5 qt size. Most in the book are 3 1/2 or 4 qt size pots. there are also a fair amount of recipes that aren't made in the slow cooker.

Love my cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow, beautiful illustrations, and it was new. I decided to buy it because I collect Southern Living Cookbooks, but did not have one for the slow-cooker.

I was looking for a more contemporary updated slow cooker book than some of the ones I have that are decades old. I'm a subscriber to Southern Living and saw this in one of their magazines and it looked interesting. I then bought it on ebay and intend to get a few as a gift for harried single mom friends of mine. The meals look very good, some are more caloric than I will do for my family but I'll adapt those. All in all, I am looking forward to cold weather to try some of these!

First--If it's Southern Living, you know it's good.
My family and I live a fast paced life. I want to be able to do things
with my kids and still be able to sit and have a healthy dinner with them. Fast food is okay sometimes, but I think dinner is where you can relax and really listsen to your kids. We are active and love to be outside as long as possible--this book takes the pressure off of being home at certain times and allows time for more important things. The food is healthy, tastey, quick to make--and also easy. All of my kids participte in crock pot cooking--what more could you ask for?

I enjoy everything Southern Living and this was no exception. There were so many great recipes that were easy to make. These were normal recipes that my family would enjoy, not the fancy stuff with ingredients that I would have to go out and buy. I wish that there were more cookbooks like this for the average family. Five stars!

I love to cook and with this cookbook it gives easy & fast recipes to fix a meal. Less time cooking and more time for the family.

If you have never bought a slow cooker cookbook, by all means make this the first one. If you have others, put this one at the top of you must have list. The recipes are absolutely wonderful and are homestyle, which is why I like it so much.
