Even a northerner can like "A Southern Belle Primer"
This is a very amusing, tongue-in-cheek look at the southern debutant life. If you like the Sweet Potato Queens books (this book was recommended by SPQ author Jill Conner Browne), you'll enjoy this. Even if you can't personally relate to fretting over your choice of silver pattern or what kind of gloves to wear, you can go along for the ride.
The type was a little difficult for these old eyes to read in the introductions: it is a small, italicized font, brown ink on lighter brown stock. I'd suggest not straining your eyes to see by reading in bed if you're over 40. Sit up properly in a comfy chair near good lighting...and make sure you have tomato sandwiches and a tall, cold glass of sweet tea nearby.
