The Sound of Music (DVD, 2002, Single Disc; Widescreen; Checkpoint)

I made this purchase because I felt it was time to upgrade from my trusty VHS copy of this classic. My only regret is that I waited until now to add this title to my collection. If you have experienced "The Sound of Music" I am sure you will empathize. If you have not had the pleasure: buy this film. I would find it hard to believe someone not enjoying it at least once....and if it's not of you're liking just resell it here!!

Great movie, Have seen the movie a couple times and even my twelve year old daughter loves it. Actually bought the movie for her. Would recommend it to anyone who loves a good classic movie that the family can enjoy.

I really loved this movie. I never saw it before and decided to buy it and I was really impressed with the movie. Everyone should watch this classic.

A classic uplifting story. Great music. Good for the whole family. My wife never saw it and is now in love with this movie. I know the lyrics to all the songs because she continually watches this movie.

Bought for my great granddaughter who is taking voice lessons and some of the songs are from this production. It is great, and should be in everyone's library. IMO, few recent productions have the quality of singing to be found in the older productions.

Over a 6 week period in December - January I was bidding on several hundred DVD auctions here on eBay trying to obtain cheap copies of about two dozen titles to bring back to Africa with me. (I work for an international NGO in Africa, and having a nice collection of DVDs provides a nice break for all of us on our team.)

Of all the titles I was bidding on - some brand new releases, some classics, some R rated thrillers, some G-rated cartoons, the movie I had the most difficult time obtaining at a reasonable price was the Sound of Music. I was shocked that used copies were routinely going for $10 or more. I must have bid on about 30 or 40 auctions just to get a copy in the $8 price range.

That says something about this movie's incredible popularity and staying power. It is pretty much one of the MUST WATCH movies. It doesn't get old and it brightens my day any time I watch even a part of it.

The best movie of all time. It is fabulous and I watch it every week.

One day I will return to the heartland and run the hills like the Von Trapps.

This is a great all time movie. I bought it because during Christmas my 4 year old daughter was watching it on Television and fell in love with the music and children in the movie. Now she watched it pretty much every day! I have trouble believeing a 4 year old will sit still for a 3 hour movie about the a rectory of nuns etc. but if she is happy I'm happy!

Absolute Masterpiece!!! This movie is the ultimate in family/feel good movies. The soundtrack alone makes you smile.

I never received the DVD. The man ripped me off - the movie is good as I remember it from my childhood.

one of the best musicals out there, love julie andrews, and now my kids are singing with the movie, something for the whole family to enjoy.

I will let you know if I ever get it..... been over a month and still I have not recieved it. If I knew how to get in touch with the seller, I would. But I don't.
