Fantasy with a Shakespeare vs. Dumas flavor
If you like fantasy and particularly if you like the wave of "mannerpunk" fantasy influenced by the Three Musketeers, you may really enjoy this book. It's a little slow for my taste and the characters are a bit stilted, though it's full of intricate wit and complex relationships. The author did an interesting twist on some familiar Shakespearian characters, and if you've read or seen "The Tempest," it will enrich your enjoyment of this book. Prospero is a major character along with Ariel and Caliban.
You know what they say -- steal from the best!
