The Sopranos Family Cookbook by Allen Rucker, Artie Bucco, Michele Scicolone (2002, Hardcover)

This book is an easy-to-follow outline for some great Italian recipes. It covers a nice variety of dishes that your entire family will enjoy...whether you are Italian or not! If you are a Sopranos fan you will enjoy reading each chapter as well as the recipes as your favorite characters are highlighted throughout the book. In addition, there are some great dessert recipes that are worth the price alone. As Tony would say, "Buy this book, or else I'm gonna have to crack some heads, along with some cannolis..."
You won't be disappointed!

Like many of the other buyers out there, we are avid fans of the show. The food from the show always sounded and looked great. I have a cookbook collection consisting of several dozen different types of food, from French to Japanese to Italian and this is by far one of my favorites.

The recipes are easy to follow and the generous number of pictures showing what the dish should look like makes it easy for even beginners. The Osso Bucco recipe is as good as we get downtown at a little Italian place we dine at.

The Cannoli recipe could have included a substitute for the ricotta though, since good ricotta is so hard to find in most of the U.S. I would suggest the use of mascarpone instead since its texture is smoother and the cream filling can be made with less effort, while at the same time, achieving a very close result. The remainder of the recipe is from what I understand, from my Italian friends who are in the know about such matters, to be "authentic."

Recipes aside, the stories told by the actors about their families is also entertaining and different. It allows many of us to catch a glimpse of the true meaning of tradition and the value of family.

I was able to purchase my copy at a very reasonable price with a reasonable shipping price. I plan to buy other copies for friends and family in order to prevent the unauthorized hijacking of my copy! I also plan to buy the book, Entertaining with Carmela Soprano.

Regardless what you will pay for this cookbook, it will be worth it! I had the book only for a week and I made Janice's baked ziti (I didn't have time to make the Sunday Gravey that's why I made Janice's it was quick and the sauce good however I did add more basil and garlic--you can never have enough garlic), Roasted chicken with lemon, garlic, and oregano; Seseme Seeded Cookies (we ate them so quick, its just the two of us mind you, afraid to make another batch) and pastina with ricotta. When I get some nice peppers, I will make the egg and pepper sandwich, need I say more? This cookbook compels you to make food and enjoy with friends.... thanks Carmella, thanks Artie

An absolute must for every kitchen. If you have one you must have both of the cookbooks. You will not be disappointed. The best recipes come from family and tradition.

I first saw the book at a customers house, I work with people in their kitchens and do alot of cooking. When I first saw and looked through the book I realized I had to have a copy. There is nothing at all I dont like about this book.Condition is as the seller stated and the book itself is great the recipes are easy to make and some are the best I have ever had. I would suggest ths book to anyone as a gift or for their own kitchen or colection as it is not only a cookbook but also has great quote sections from the actors, if your into the sopranos at all, this is the book for you.
I went on line to find this book and didnt like the prices I saw, I then looked through ebay - I found more then then I expected but some had higher shipping fees then I thought reasonable. I looked through the listings foe those with a reasonable shipping rate and found the one that I won.

This book is a must have for anyone who is a big fan of the Sopranos HBO series or anyone who truly loves easy to prepare Italian recipes. Cleverly written from the perspective of several characters from the show, the book contains not only a wealth of recipes but also colorful anecdotes and humorous side stories.

I Love this cookbook. Simple , easy to make recipies that taste like a million bucks. If your a chef or just someone who loves to cook, check out this cookbook , you can`t go wrong.

I BOUGHT THIS BOOK AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR MY BROTHER. HOWEVER I DID READ IT FIRST...EVEN IF U ARE NOT A COOK ... YOU'LL STILL GET A KICK OUT OF READING IT...NOT A BAD BUY...SOME OF THE RECIPES ARE EVEN EASY..BUT MOST REQ EXPIERENCE.

I had checked this cook book out at the library and fell in love with the recipes and story lines. I haven't made any of the recipes yet, but they certainly do sound delicious. The book wasn't in as good of shape as the seller had stated, but the recipes are all intact and I'm sure I will get years of use out of it. If you are a Soprano fan and love to cook Italian, I'd recommend it without hesitation.

I love this cookbook, but then I love The Sopranos. Since they eat constantly on the shows, this book sort of makes one feel as if they are participating at the dinner table. I have had so much fun and so many laughs just reading the cookbook that if nothing else, it has made me smile. I will definitely try these recipes.

I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. He collects Sopranos memorabillia and I added this to his collection. Great cookbook with excellent pics. Recipes aren't bad either. Great seller. Ebay offers any number of items that could not be bought otherwise. I have been a member of the Ebay community for many years. If there is something I am looking for that I can't get my hands on, I know Ebay will have it. It is an excellent tool to buy and sell anything.

I looked at some of the recipes from a friend who had the same book. I am Italian and liked the real Italian recipes in the book. Plus it had some enjoyble stories to go along with the recipes.

I bought my first copy of this ENJOYABLE and EXCEPTIONAL cookbook when it was first released. My second after several really fine meals for family and friends. My third copy after an anniversary dinner at my home because those celebrating sooo loved my veal recipe from this book! Now, this one was offered for a very small price because it was already inscribed. GREAT I thought, maybe this one will NOT be lifted from my library during desert, and I'll actually have a colorful and oh-so-wonderful copy for myself !!! A REAL WINNER, BUT KEEP IT UNDER LOCK AND KEY, IT IS, ASSUREDLY, WORTH THE EFFORT !!!

This was an excellent choice for my fiance, who loves to cook. A Huge soprano's fan we both are, so why not cook meals like them as well? I dont know how many times we watched an episode, and said darn that food looks really good!!
