America's Favorite "Family" Returns for a second season

The saga of Tony Soprano and both of his "families"continues. Delving deeper into Tony's mental state, we learn more and more about what makes him tick. His fears, his hopes, and his dreams. He is an amoral person with one face for the world and another for himself. He is unable now to differentiate between the two causing his panic attacks to be more frequent. His sister enters the picture, a real hippy chick with nothing much on her mind but money. Though they love each other, Tony and his older sister are both deeply affected by the treatment given them by their sadly lacking life of motherly love and are unable to actually love in the way nurtured children can. The ploy thickens during the second season, as we learn more about the relationship between Tony and Carmella, his wife, and how his infidelity has affected their marriage. Living two lives is coming to a head this season. Can it survive Tony's dalliances or will she finally leave him? Now the kids are sure they know about their fathers "business" even though they are rather naive about it. Meadow, the oldest chid and only daughter is sure of the nature of the family dynamic. She is becoming a woman and realizes that they are living in a parallel world, one the happy but disfunctional family, the other, a crime family. Thought the children are not fearing any harm at this point, Meadow is beginning to wonder. She shows fear in several scenes though it the attempt is made to cover her feelings by disguising them as something else. The son, AJ, is in need of help himself for his problems following closely in his father's footsteps? This is a must have along with seasons three through six. I give this season an excellent for it continues the saga seamlessly unlike many other continuing series. Well done. Would Tony's own mother actually connive with her brother in law Uncle Junior, to "wack" Tony? Hmmm we'll see. Played by Nancy Marchand, the mother is a piece of work. Mommy Dearest can't hold a candle to this mother.
