  What an excellent little camera!

After reading every single review I could get my eyes on, I finally decided to buy the Alpha A350. I already own the A100 and the A700, both of which I enjoy very much. Why the A350 then?... well, there are two new features in the Alpha line, one is the Live View, and the other is the adjustable/moveable LCD screen. I have found myself many times I want to take a picture of a subject without the need of getting their attention when I put the camera viewfinder on my face. So the A350 will let you do it, while you look at the LCD at waist level. Another feature I love of the Alpha line is the Steady Shot mode, where the camera will reduce the shake of your hands no matter what lens you put in the camera. Sony Alpha line of DSLRs is very promissing... with prices so low (which is very strange for a Sony brand product) and excellent quality. I also own a few more DSLRs from each of the other major camera brands, which I also love, but somehow Sony Alpha has won my heart... Now, if I could only make this love affair last... LOL

This camera is an affordable one from Sony. 14.2M pixels is enough for daily use. The live view is very helpful in some situations. However, Sony's lens is a bit more expensive than the counterparts. If you have Minolta legacy lens, you probably will consider this camera.

This has been the worst experience with EBAY. I am not buying this item. I waited and waited for it only to be told by email that it was not being shipped because there a was a problem with PayPal registration. The seller never notified me that there was a problem nor told me he wasn't shipping it until I inquired. Who knows when I would have found out! Based on the lack of communication, and in reliance on the seller's email that he had cancelled the purchase, I went and bought another one somewhere else. Now, it is showing up weeks later that I bought it. I am NOT buying it. I don't want to deal with this seller.

This camera takes awesome pictures. It is a little on the heavy side, but I was expecting that. It was shipped immediately, and I had no problems what-so-ever with anything about it. I had a small 4 megapixel camera that I could not take pictures with because it would cause fuzziness with any movement. I do breath and therefore I could not take a good picture with it. No such problems with this camera!

Best price for the prodcust, came brand new in sealed box, no calls asking for add-ons, fast free delivery. Awesome deal, thanks you! It's tough to know if you can trust some of these low price warehouses, but this one was trustworthy and got me my item quickly and even included an 8GIG photo card, which was a big value to me. You can trust this seller.

OMG can't believe I waited so long to go digital-- as a die-hard film nut I was waiting for digital to look as good as film. This camera surpasses ALL expectations. Easy to use, well placed buttons, easy to access features. The pictures speak for themselves-- everyone thinks the photos were professionally shot. Better than all my SLRs put together. LOVE IT!!!!!!

  VERY SATISFIED
Review created: 12/19/08

I love everything about this camera. I read many reviews of all the competitor cameras and this one. I do not shoot action events like racing or sports so the complaints, from some, on this camera do not apply to me. I do not even mind the plastic lens that comes with the kit. I took 400 pictures at our family christmas gathering and all turned out fantastic. The clarity and definiton are spectacular. The ease of use is a big plus. I prefer the optical view over the lcd display but having the option of either is nice.

One of the reasons I chose this camera over the other brands is the compatiabilty with Minolta lenses. You can save big money buying used lenses from owners of 35mm Minolta cameras.

I highly recommend this camera!

  Sony's A350 summed up.
Review created: 10/11/09

Everyone wants the best for themselves, but at what price? I myself too want the very best. I have done immense research and came to the conclusion that Sony by buying out Konica Minolta has secured itself a permanent seat in today's market share.
The A300&A350 are both identical in every way except the megapixel count; one has 14.2 the other 10.2 respectfully. I found that unless you're a professional photographer it makes no difference which one you buy.
There are many features that are very useful in the camera's. For 1. the AF Live View, it is very handy & with the camera's tilt feature makes it that much easier to use. The screen has a 2.7" TFT LCD Tilt & Shift with 230,000 pixels and an Anti-reflective coating on it. So it is very much capable to see tiny details.
Furthermore you could hook up any Sony and Minolta lens to it, and there's quite a bunch of them. The camera does not depend on image stabilization to come from the lens because it feature's body-integrated image stabilization. The stock lens that comes with it is an ordinary 18-70mm Kit Lens, which will do for the begging photographer.
To sum it up the camera is a great deal for the money. If you want another helpful review visit this website: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/SonyDSLRA350/

What a GREAT camera. The Best yet from Sony.

I owned the Sony A100 for several years and really liked this camera. I have owned Minolta cameras all my life and was not sure what I would think about the new Sony line. The A350 is the next step forward for the Sony line. I really like this camera for the every day use and for the ease of use by the novice user. If you have some of the old auto focus Minolta lens they will work just fine with this camera and you will not have to buy new lens. The only lens I would purchase is the 18 to 70mm lens. It is a great all around lens. Here are some of the great features of this camera.

Sony A350 Basic Features
14.2 MP Super HAD CCD delivering resolutions as high as 4,592 x 3,056 pixels

It is not necessarily the most intuitive camera I have ever used, but if you read the manual, then you'll find it pretty easy to point and shoot with the correct setting. The 14.1 megapixel ability means you'll end up with great pictures even if you aren't a great photographer.

  Sony DSLR Alpha 350K

I love the fact that it is very similar to my Konica-Minolta 7D and the fact that all my AF Minolta lenses interchange with this Camera. I was hesitant to buy my Konica-Minolta 7D when I heard Sony was Buying them out. I have just received my Sony Alpha 350 and love it. The shipping was propmt and the camera arrived in mint condition. Having a minolta system for over 20 years, I could not bring myself to change brands and invest tons of money in new equipment. I Love the fact that I can pick this camera u and go to work. The resolution is wonderful, and I like the feature on the eyepiece that allows me to adjust the view finder till it comes into focus for those of us who wear glasses. The other nice thing about this camera is the tiltable digital screen, which would be an asset for somone in a reporter type situation when trying to get photos in a mob of people, they can tilt the screen, hold the camera up and aim at the subject if they cannot see at eye-level. The 14.2 mega-pixel resolution is a definite upgrade from the 7D's 6 megapixels. I am looking forward to enlarging wedding and senior portraits for wall-framing.

I have only been using this camera about a month but I have enjoyed using it! I am not a professional photographer - more like a professional hobby photogrpher. Along with the 14 megapixels, which allows beautifully clean large prints, I really love the tiltable, live view screen. Very nice camera. Easy operation. Can use one the the presets or switch over to manual use when I feel more creative. Battery life has proven to be adequate for my use, while I haven't yet needed a backup battery, I'm sure a spare charged battery would be a good investment. I would recommend this camera for a beginning or intermediate photographer looking to step it up a notch.

Review created: 04/01/09

I expected more from this camera. I purchased two Sony lenses for this camera. These lenses work O.K. for now. I will need to upgrade to the high end lenses. Maybe then, I will be able to achieve quality photos from this camera. I'm not to fond of the loud shutter noise. The camera noise scares off wildlife!!! Not cool !! The LCD screen is hard to see when shooting outside in the sunlight. I will need to buy a Carl Zeiss lens for sure. Maybe a 50mm prime lens too? Anyways, I'd rate this camera a 8 out of 10. My ratings may go up if my photo quality improves. I can't complain too much, because the $525 price was mighty fine. SNAP,SNAP,SNAP
