This speaker-level connection can take the signal that normally drives the factory speakers, and uses it as the input to the Sony amplifier. No preamp output is required from the factory system.     I purchased this Amp for my son, he first had to invest another $45 in cables and such to be able to hook up in his car. Once this was done he discovered the amp did not work. I have emailed the seller and have had no response from him. We are now stuck with a non-functioning amp for $59.99 + $10.00 shipping.
    I find this seller unreliable and would not reccommend anyone purchase from him.
