The sound is wonderful , the hd upconversion is noticably good and the vesatility of inputs solved a lot of issues which makes this a highly recommended item.

) Pro: The HDMI does work and can auto adjust. It is not a 1080P but a 1080i up-convert. It can pass 1080p through it. So Sony is trying to be click and play with works on that.
Con: The sound is average at best. The watts rating is also very off. Subtract about 25% of what they say for real world sound.
So for a basic sound receiver it is ok. The video part is decent but the sound is lacking.
