Sony STR DE845 5.1 channel 500 Watt Receiver

I bought this same receiver new about 4 years ago. I payed a good price for it but it had many features and is the heart of my home theater. Buying an older receiver without seeing it scared me so I stuck with what I new. Could not have been happier. This unit has plenty of power and I love the numerous sound fields. Watching a football or basketball game in high definition with 5:1 sourround sound in the "live" mode is unreal. It's hard to watch anything without it. I bought this for a gift for my parents. They have been thrilled. Try to find one at a good price. They go for about 15 to 20 percent of original price 4 years ago. Sony STR DE845!

This receiver is part of a generation of equipment that is 'outdated'. I wanted something economical for an outdoor theater set up in my back yard. Since it is an older generation (5.1), it takes less speakers(5)not counting the sub-woofer. This made it easier to set up and break down. It has plenty of power(100 watts/channel) and the sound is excellent. From other reviews, I understand that they are fragile, but for the price (around $100) I took a chance on it.

i'm still learning how to buy on ebay because i'm a new member but about the products i've got are in great condition and the sellers were really honest so i'll keep been a good buller and in the future i will recomend to all my friends to start doing bussiness on internet with you.Thank you EBAY.

I have owned several and was very pleased with the production, for the price.They have good volume range as well as clarity for their class.I particularly enjoyed the capability to switch between the A or B channels as well as to be able to play them simultaneously.

First off I loved the price I paid for it.. as It did take me about 2 weeks bidding & looking at the ones i wanted to bid on & would be happy with..
SECOND.. I Saved like 75% off retail or should we say the price of what a junk one would cost in the retail world. I bought a top name brand with beautiful sound,functions,quality, and dont forget looks & plenty of power..

BOTTOM LINE I BUY MOST MY THINGS OFF EBAY NOW AS WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS OVER 10 YEARS ON EBAY. REAL EXAMPLE!!!! I WILL GO TO A HIGH END STORE THAT I WILL NOT GIVE THERE NAME.. TRY ON A PAIR OF $100.00 PAIR OF SHOES MAKE SURE I LIKE THEM AND THEY FIT RIGHT. THEN I GO HOME AND FIND THEM ON EBAY START BIDDING OR JUST BUY A PAIR IF THEY HAVE A BUY IT NOW ON THEM. AND BOTTOM LINE IS I JUST SAVED $100.00 PRICE OF SHOES $40.00 AS I HAVE DONE THIS JUST ON ABOUT ANYTHING EVEN DOWN TO BUYING BOTTLES OF TYLENOL REAL EXAMPLE STRORE YOU BUY 1 BOTTLE EBAY YOU GET 3 BOTTLES SAME PRICE BOTH NEW AND SEALED AND NO THEY WERE NOT OUT OF DATE.. EBAY IS LIKE EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD IT IS NOT PERFECT NO ONE OR THING IS AS THEY GO UP ON THERE PRICES TO SELL THINGS ON EBAY YES THEY DO AND DO NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE THAN ANYBODY ELSE.. I miss the volume level numbers when adjusting volume. Also its hard to get the volume just right. The volume is too loud and a touch of the button and the volume is too quiet. It doesn't seem right, and the manual doesn't help with these problems.

works great in the area I have and sounds good with the speakers I have, so enough said good system for the money.

Great mid-level receiver, plenty of power and a subwoofer output to hook up a powered sub. The thing I liked the most was the optical inputs and output. Great if you are copying cd's. Optical has a far better sound than traditional rca jacks. Great purchase for not a lot of money.
