    We are in the process of converting our VHS collection to DVD. Another of our dvd/vcr combos went south, so this one replaces it. It functions perfectly for our use. Sony generally makes a good product.

    When deciding to purchase a dvd player/vcr combo the only things I am concerned about is the picture quality, ease of operation and price. This inexpensive, easy to use unit has an excellent dvd and vcr playback picture quality that I believe is second to none. Remember-This is a dvd player and not a dvd recorder. Also keep in mind that this unit does not have a built in tuner. This means that in order for the unit to function you will need a separate tuner (such as a cable box or satellite box) that HAS video/audio jack outputs along with a television that HAS video/audio jack inputs.
