I purchased this item for two reasons:
1) So I could transfer some home videos (VHS) to DVD so I don't have to worry about the tape disintegrating over time.
2) The price.
I am very satisfied with this Player/recorder so far. I have transferred a couple of videos to dvd and the process is very simple.
The unit was easy to connect up with excellent directions. I am not using it as a recorder to record movies from tv or cable so it was very easy to replace an existing unit I had.
If you are thinking of purchasing this unit, I recommend it.

) This is exactly what I was looking for. It is so easy to use. One button and you can transfer a VHS to DVD. Now I can preserve all my kids movies. I Love It!!
