This system is INCREDIBLE and will be sure to give the Xbox 360 a run for its money. While the systems are both amazing (I grew up with an Atari) the Playstation, despite its late start, will have MUCH more games released over time. Below I have made a list of the PROS and CONS of the PS3!

PRICE - With the Blu-Ray DVD player this really is a non-issue. Still ... for a game system it is rather expensive!

Not a lot of games coming out when the console is released (Only 3 actually!)

We are pleased it plays PS2 games as well as PS3 games. It has internet access and plays our digital pictures (from memory sticks as well from the memory cards) like a slide show! It also plays Blu-Ray movies... We absolutely LOVE it!

I bought the 60GB PS3 two weeks ago and was excited that I won the auction. It can play old games of PS1 and PS2 games, which I have lots of them. Plus I had a 80GB hard drive that would fit into the PS3 system, didn't want to lay it around so I just upgraded the PS3 system to that hard drive. The controller that came with it wasn't DualShock but I was fine with that. The bad news about this is that the system gets hot at times and i'm afraid it might get over-heated so I decided to get a cooler just in case the system goes bad. I wanted this system since it has everthing I needed, such as web browsing, HDTV output, gaming, and it's just so entertainment when joining servers with friend. This is so awesome. I recommend getting the 60GB or the 80GB PS3 if you still love those old PS1 or PS2 games.

The overall console its self is a must have for any gamer, graphics playability and versatility are far better than any compettitor, however the price is a bit to swallow but you have to keep in mind of what your getting, all you have to do to play online is hook up an ethernet cable to your router and bam your surfing the web watching videos on you tube or playing against your friend, with no required subscription, I must say the biggest dissapointment I had was that you cannot select songs from the hard drive while playing a game, like you can with x box. that's it buy it and try it

Well I can't really complain, it was a PS3 60 gig in a box just like I wanted. It works and there can't be much said on the negative side because that was all I was worried about. It has some minor exterior blemishes but I don't really care and it doesn't diminish the product as a whole. I am not one to worry about such trivial things as scratches on casing. Works like new and I love it.

I decided to purchase a Sony PlayStaton 3. I did some research and found that the 60GB model had backwards compatibility for the PS1 and PS2 games, so that's the one I wanted...but then I found it was no longer being made.
I found this one and asked if the Japanese model was different, and I was told it was made in Japan and should work the same as the US model.
Then I found the paper instructions were in Japanese only, so I had to go online for instruction in English.
I purchased a PS2 game at Best Buy, but the Japan model of the PS3 will not play PS2 games from US because of some "REGION" restrictions, and Best Buy won't return my money for the game. I am still looking into this, but who knows.
But hey...it's got a Blu-Ray player that works great.
Aside from the PS2/PS1 problem, I am still glad I bought the PS3, but I don't
know if I would buy it again.

PS3 is amazing. It has everything you could want in a gaming console. Beyond that, its a BluRay player, and if you haven't seen a BluRay movie on a 1080p HDTV yet, you're in for quite a treat.

This is one of the best game consoles ever made. We bought it because of it's versatility and features. It's a shame that Sony stopped making it because it is their best game console. Even it was more expensive to make, I think that they could charge a little more for it and it would still sell. The used consoles are commanding hefty prices all over, and the desire for them is pretty high. Obviously, serious gamers are seeking the excellence of the PS3, and I think Sony should take notice of that.

The graphics alone make this system an amazing purchase and a must have for any avid video gamer. As an added bonus, you get a blu-ray dvd player. It's the best bang for your buck.

I'm a converted Xbox fan. (Played PS1 MGS, XB MGS2, and now I've jumped into the PS3 for MGS3 & MGS4.)
