As soon as that happened, I filed a claim thru paypal. Thank goodness i received my money back. A couple weeks later, I get a package from the seller. It was a MARBLE!! I'm glad I reacted fast cause I wasn't giving the seller $425 for a MARBLE!! I am that seller is taken off EBAY. This was my first purchase thru here and it had to be FRAUD!!!! This was a birthday gift to my son. I went to Best Buy and bought the PS3 for $399 and it included the guitar hero package and a $50 giftcard. I'm glad I didn't lose my money. But it can be expensive! I'm glad I found www.ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk where I got mine for free :) All I did was sign up and then completed ONE offer. I recommend the Seattle Coffee offer as it is FREE to complete and takes a few minutes! There are many alternative offers you can complete such as the King.com offer where you have play through $5. There is a chance you will win your money back anyway! There are many other gadgets I can get for free this way, such as consoles, iPhones, iPods, Plasma TV's and the list goes on Visit: www.ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk before you think about putting your hands into your pocket for this gadget. The site can afford to send out these "free" gifts because you have to complete an offer first. They get paid commission when me and you do so, which is used to buy the gift with money left over as profit for them! I hope you enjoy the extra £££'s saved in your bank account from using ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk :) www.ultimate-free-gifts.c Review ID: 10000000012604710 Was this review helpful? I have to say that though the PS3 I bought works, it was described as like new no blemishes whatsoever, and the it was pulled out of the box to watch a movie and put back in. This unit was used, had scuff marks, and saved game data on it as well as IM's still on it. When I asked the sell about this he changed to "I only played on it for a total of eight hours." I asked him how he wanted to take care of the fact that the item was not as described he never answered. Also the shipping was a nightmare, was advertised fast shipment, I paid for it on 05-25-09 it should have shipped on 05-26-09, did this happen? No. It shipped out 06-11-09, 15 shipping days later. Seller blamed it on the post office. Though I'm glad the PS3 works, I'm not happy about the amount that I paid for the condition that its in. Buyer beware when dealing with this seller. This seller does not ship you item you bought. He runs with the money. so if you are thinking about buying something from this seller I would think twice. I had to go through EBay and Paypal to get my money back since this seller will not return your emails once you have paid him. he also insist on you giving him a good review before it will send the item. which is aginst EBay rules. We at Console Folk buy Playstation Systems for Parts or Repair and then refurbish them. A few tips when purchasing a new Playstation System: Reliability: Try and buy a newer model when at all possible. The older models are functionally the same, but the newer lasers are much less likely to burn out, and some of the ventilation issues have been solved as well. Look more for CECHH01, CECHK01, CECHP01 and CECHL01. If the seller doesn't have the model listed, don't be afraid to ask! Unless you are really into status, veer away from the backwards compatable models. They are overpriced only because they are not in production, and because they play PS2 games. These systems are the most likely to get the YLOD though, because the heat inside the systems cannot be ventilated out properly. If you do get one of these systems, be sure to take EXTREMELY good care of it, keep dust away, and run it on it's side, in a well ventilated area (not on carpet or enclosed inside an entertainment center). Doing these things will greatly reduce the risk of YLOD. If possible feasable however, just buy a newer PS3 and a PS2. It will run about the same amount of money, and PS2s play PS2 games better anyways. Overall though, there are somewhere around 33% of XBOX360s that have the RROD within the first year of use. The early defect rate for a PS3 is only around 1%. So reliability as compared to other systems is wonderful. Graphics: Hands down the best graphics being blu ray, through an HDMI cable, it surpasses most PC games even, which are generally the benchmark in graphics. 360 is close when using HDMI, and wii does not hold a candle. Let's face it, wii is a party game machine, it is great in it's own rights, but without HDMI, and with focus on party games, it is a glorified Gamecube. Had they included HDMI, it may be a different story as they do use ATI graphics cards which are top notch. Games: Playstation and XBOX have always gotten the best games over the long run. This holds true with the new systems as well. 1 up to Playstation though as they get the best Final Fantasy games exclusive to them (Chrystal Chronicles are not considered in this argument, sorry nintendo fans). Internet: XBOX still charges for internet use through their systems and XBOX gold. The Playstation Network is offered for free. This is self explanatory. Overall: The price is a little hefty still, but when you consider full cost of ownership after purchasing XBOX Gold for a year, they really level out to only be about $10 different. With that being said, for $10 difference, choose the better/more reliable console. Sony is getting it more right by the day, and Microsoft still chooses to use XClamps. Until this changes Playstation is the choice. (Wii is the most reliable after you send it back to nintendo to get that first stock lemon laser swapped out. The actual console itself has little problems, though you are likely to have sensor bar issues in the long run, that is relatively inexpensive to replace. So if you are unconcerned with phenominal graphics, and can settle for descent graphics, and family games, wii holds it's own for $200 cheaper. It just isn't quite the gameplaying machine that the others are. It's off in its own little genre of gaming, so I tried not to include it as much). While it isn't the cheapest unit ever produced (40gb version), it isn't hardly worth the full retail price, assuming you use it for dedicated game and movie playback. No card readers, only 2 USB ports (vs original 4), AND keep in mind that the price is expected to drop in April 2009--so hold off on purchasing for now. Only the 60gb and 20gb versions came with the "Emotion Chip", which allowed nearly perfect PS2/PS1 hardware-based emulation. Only these originals featured chrome trim, and everything that's come since has had cheaper gray plastic. Only the 80gb Motorstorm PS3s that have come since are capable of playing PS2 games, but it is software emulated, and will not universally play all games. ALL PS3 units are capable of playing the original PS1 games. IF you are going to get a Playstation 3 and care about overall quality, invest a little more money in purchasing the 60gb version over ALL others--and invest the $40 in a squaretrade warranty. NOTE: A PS3 price drop is expected in April of 2009--unless you want a 60/20gb PS3 for playback purposes, it is recommended that you hold off on your PS3 purchase until after this point in time. Great product, will never buy a separate blu-ray, when you can have that and so much more in this package. Works great with my NAS for streaming all my music, movies, and photos. What's eBay doing about - no idea. Will I get my money back - no idea. Will I ever use eBay again or encourage others to use eBay - not a chance. A bad purchase could be made by anyone at any time, but the same seller selling the same fake product over and over - way to go eBay. N Review ID: 10000000011455838 Was this review helpful?
