Sony PlayStation 3 - 60 GB Black

I really like some of the features PS3 has, like the blue ray dvd and the graphics engine, the controller also fits in your hand nicely. It is nice, but the xbox is a much better system as far as user friendly. I have been a Playstation kind of guy until this latest system. I originally bought a PS3 new about a year and a half ago, and turned right around and sold it to buy a 360. The playstation has a few games that I like so I bought another one. Xbox was just a little more on top of their game on this competition, but who knows Playstation may have a few tricks up their sleeve in the future.

I set out to buy the 60GB version so that I could play my older PS2 games and I am happy I did, not to mention happy to find a new system since Sony stopped making these last year(07). The system works like a charm, game play is awesome and movie quality(standard dvd) is great as well. I don't have any Blu-Ray disks yet, but, intend to start my collection of movies in due time. overall Sony gets two thumbs up from me for a excellent system...so far ;-)

I purchased my PS3 three weeks ago to be used as a Blu-ray DVD player. In that respect this unit is outstanding, delivering excellent high definition video and outstanding audio and I would give it an Excellent rating. But I am rating it an Average because of the following issues: On initial power-up, I tried a couple of DVDs, one standard format and one Blu-ray format and got nothing. I then tried a PS3 game with the same results. I was ready to pack it up and send it back, but decided to power the unit off and reset it. After powering the unit off and on, the unit was able to play both DVD formats and games flawlessly. But four days later the DVD drive unit just stopped functioning. Contacted Sony and they walked me through some troubleshooting steps and determined the drive to be bad. I can't understand why after spending the kind of money one has to spend on this system that it only functions for a short time. Be advised that even if you have full warranty on the system you will have to produce a copy of purchase receipt to have system repaired or replaced for no charge. Otherwise you will be charged $149 plus tax. They DO NOT accept copies of purchases made on bidding sites. So make sure to get a receipt! Sony did do an excellent job by sending a prepaid UPS box to ship the unit back and contacting me by email about repairs and/or replacement. It was only a short time from the time I sent the system back to getting a replacement unit, about 10 days. I have a system back and am putting it through its paces. I have 90 days, since it was a replacement system, to see if I have other problems while still under warranty. Other than the problems encountered, I enjoy the gaming and movie playback capability of this system. Especially the online update capability, which is not currently available in the standalone Blu-ray DVD players, one of the features that influenced my decision to purchase this system instaed of a standalone unit.

I have to appreciate the quality of the Sony refurbishment process. I've had this puppy for about a week and a half and I've played with every setting and output it has with great success. I've used the BluRay and played Modern Warfare 2 on an HD and it all looks beautiful. I've played my PS1 and PS2 games and I've even managed to use my PSP to play a PS1 game! For anyone who ever put off getting a PS3 because of cost, finding deals on items like these that are hard to come by in these times is the best part of eBay!

The PS3 is not only a game console but a next generation game console it is way misunderstood. It has capability's and graphics that surpass that of the Xbox 360. I decided to buy it because I saw what this system is capable of considering you can sync just about anything Bluetooth to it. If you are not sure of whether or not to buy one play MGS4 on a high def tv with HDMI. Then and only then you will understand what it means to have a PS3.

Great product--allows you to play current PS3 Games as well as PS2 old games. Sony quit making these backwards compatible machines a couple of years ago, and it is nice that the old and new games can be played on the same console.

Loving my Black Beauty.....it does everything I want except cook me dinner! Been wanting on3 for a while, can't wait too see it's full potential

what i love about the PS3 is all the features the 80 gb has and the games I can get now. The system works great no problems. why i decided to buy it cause my PS2 is old and i wanted the ps3 with my wife wanting one as well.

Reliable, rock steady machine that plays awesome games and blu-ray movies in a total killer-app package. Internet connection also makes this console future proof until the next generation. Stellar exclusive games are finally starting to become available. Add to this, the sweet blu-ray playback makes this console a no-brainer. Get it.

best system out there. most powerful of them all has the best graphics of any system, loads games and movies fast. also the wireless controller is cool also since you don't have to worry about a cable

This was a great purchase. I barely managed to get one of the few 80 GB PS3's still available, but it was worth it to have backward compatibility. And as for the whole hardware emulation versus software emulation debate ; Ignore it because every title in my 35+ library of PS1 and PS2 games work fine.

I love the 60GB model. It lives up to its reputation of playing PS3 and PS2 games. It is an outstanding BluRay player. What's NOT to like?

This has got to be the best gaming system on the market today. Not only are the games out of this world, but the Blue Ray movies are outstanding. You can also merge your movies and music off of your PC onto the PS3. Options are endless.

after my payment cleared i recieved the tracking number, item was fed-exed to me the next day but i wasnt home at the time i recieved the ps3 today 12/14/09 by fed-ex ansd so far so good item works fine and is as described

I love that this product looks as if it has never been touched it is in very great conditional. I think that this will be a very good gift for my son for Christmas. I believe he is going to love it.
