Well, I thought I would try to save some money and purchase a playstation 3 off ebay. Bad idea!!! I paid for it and the guy took the money and ran, which i'm sure he did the same with other buyers. He no longer has an account with e-bay or paypal and can't be tracked down. However, I did file a complaint and appealed it. paypal had talked about refunding me 200.00 of the money back, which was great. Would of been better if it would of been the full amount, but better then nothing. It didn't help much that I did not pay attention feedback etc. on the seller. Usually I do but always have had great luck thought nothing of it.

This is the dumbed-down version of the PS3. It is the cheapest unit ever produced, and is hardly worth the price, assuming you use it for dedicated game and movie playback. No card readers, no wireless capability, AND keep in mind that the price is expected to drop in April 2009--so hold off on purchasing for now.

Every PS3 that didn't originally have a 20gb or 60gb hard drive in it was not a steal.

Only the 60gb and 20gb versions came with the "Emotion Chip", which allowed nearly perfect PS2/PS1 hardware-based emulation. Only these originals featured chrome trim, and everything that's come since has had cheaper gray plastic.

Only the 80gb Motorstorm PS3s that have come since are capable of playing PS2 games, but it is software emulated, and will not universally play all games. ALL PS3 units are capable of playing the original PS1 games.


IF you are going to get a Playstation 3 and care about overall quality, invest a little more money in purchasing the 60gb version over ALL others--and invest the $40 in a squaretrade warranty.

NOTE: A PS3 price drop is expected in April of 2009--unless you want a 60/20gb PS3 for playback purposes, it is recommended that you hold off on your PS3 purchase until after this point in time.

Great system. Free internet play. Amazing graphics. Downside is it is the most expensive system of its generation.

The playstation does not read the discs??? It was my belief reading the description that this console works and is in good condition??? Why is ebay have sellers that are untruthful about the product???please email me with a refund?? or an explaination....

this seller sent me a ps3 that he advertised as being brand new in box sealed.
when i received the item it was in bad shape. the top lid was falling off and the L triggers on the controller were busted.

I can't give a good review since I did not get the product because it was a mystery envelope and mine was empty, so I really did not win. If you have any ideas how to handle this issue I'm waiting.

I HAVE HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I PURCHASED THIS AND SELLER WAS A FRAUD. I PAID $ 355 FOR A PLAYSTATION 3 THAT WAS SHIPPED IN A BOX WITH NO BUBBLE WRAP AND NO PROTECTION. I AM NOW FIGHTING THIS WITH PAYPAL AND EBAY. DO NOT SELL OR BUY WITH XKIING.

This is the best gaming system I have ever owned. There is no doubt in my mind that PS3 is the power house of gaming systems. In my opinion Xbox is years behind when it come to the technology in the system. First of all PS3 a has built in wireless adapter, something that Xbox felt was unnecessary in there systems even the elite. PS3 has the new HD Blue-Ray player built in which gives you the best possible picture when watching movies. But the major factor to me when it came down to picking what system I wanted it was that Playstation does not charge you for every thing. Xbox charges you to play online they charge you for a year to play. Almost every thing you have to pay extra for the Xbox, Playstation has it already built in or it is free, like playing online. The arcade system seems like a good deal but it does not even come with a hard drive which is needed to save games. So over all the Playstation 3 is the better system, so spend the extra money and get the Playstation. You will save money in the long run, and will not have to deal with the Red Ring of Death.

Nice 2 for 1. Love the blu ray capability. Don't bother unless you have an HD tv though because you'll be paying for extra capabilities you won't use.

Great game system. Highly underrated. Great games out, price is also coming down. I suggest it over both the wii and xbox360 from former playstation 2 and 1 owner.

awsome system. graphics are lifelike, controls last long time on a charge and only take a couple hours to fully charge. Blu-ray capability, great dvd quality. Love the ability to demo games for free and be able to play online for free! just a very fun and easy to use system. Also its very quiet not noticeable when on. No real negatives. just a great system.

Excellent the hard drive first off is just the right size for my needs plus fully upgradeable in the event someday I want a large sized. My first ps3 attempt on here didn't go well cause it turned out to be a lemon bluray didn't work right. So far so good the one I am using now is great no problems got it back in Jan 12,2009 . It's great for gaming, the games look great on a lcd hdtv which I am using for the ps3, my wii and xbox 360. I happen to think to the ps3 in general is a great multimedia device not only does it play blurays, dvds, and cds but you can stream stuff from your computer via the media server. Alotta games to chose from for it, can also download demos to play for free to see what you like. IT works great again. its not only a gaming console but an excellent multimedia center if you get bored with this system it will be your own fault. So much you can do with it its not even funny.

Love my new PS3...came in original box. I'm very satisfied with my purchase from this seller! Communication however...sent several emails, but didn't get a reply until several days later...though it was over the Thanksgiving holiday, so I'm not sweating that issue too much. Delivery was a few days longer, but again, it was the holidays, so I don't hold seller accountable for that.

I bought this for my son who has / had a PS2 - The new PS3 is not downward compatable with games / controllers / memory cards etc., I had learned that the older PS3's - 20GB and 60GB units ARE downward or backward compatable and would therefore play all of our PS2 games / controllers etc., Purchased a PS3 20GB used from ebay, and LOVE THE unit,, all PS2 components work. The 20GB is not wireless, so if you are looking for wireless you must purchase the 60GB, a bit more expensive.

It took about 25 days for the ps3 to get here. condition was as expected; controller and everything worked great.

i love that you cand get on the internet from the ps3, i love the blu ray built into it. i dislike that you have to buy everything separate.
