Sony Mavica MVC FD100 1.2 Megapixel

This is one of the oldest digital models around however Sony made a top quality product in this camera. It takes great pictures and you can set the setting so you can 30 pictures on a floppy disk at the 640 image size. The FD100 had the capability of a memory stick. The screen is to easy to focus on your object and zoom in. I had used several of these at school and wanted to have one for myself. They do not sell them new any more but online I was able to fine one. I have used some of the newer cameras and the LCD panels are smaller than on the FD100. I enjoy the panel size and even though we are getting away from floppy disk, it is still easy to use and import your pictures into your picture file or powerpoint presentation. If you want an easy camera to use and quality pictures, I recommend one. I like the memory stick capability so look for the 100 or one that has that. I have a FD80 that does not have that capability but it takes great pictures using a floppy. They are like the old 35MM cameras around. Quality pictures with out the bells and whistles. Easy and a sure shot.

I buy Sony Mavica cameras to use for Real Estate work. Unfortunately, I don't think Sony is making these cameras anymore. I am only able to find them on Ebay. They are durable, and I can easily seperate the photos because they use floppy disks. The camera has a floppy disk drive built-in. I use one disk for each property, and keep each floppy disk with each file. The resolution does not have to be very good for my purposes, so I'm not sure how the Mavica compares to other cameras in this regard. Occasionally, a photo will be corrupted. I would estimate about 1 bad file in about 100. This is really my only complaint, and I don't know if it is caused by the camera, the floppy disk, or my software.

My husband purchased my first Mavica a couple of years ago. And I love the camera that well that I also carry it back and forth for my rescue. I run a rescue for Small breed dogs and post them online. We need good identifying pics and this camera does it well. Well I was wanting to get another to keep at the rescue for everyday use when the stores tell me that this particular brand of camera is no longer available.. So I went to Ebay and found a few online. I bid and won 4. Now I can keep my personal at home, one at the rescue to put the rescues online, one for our online sales we are starting and an extra just in case.. I was also able to find a great deal on Memory sticks for the camera.. Thanks Ebay and everyone who places items for bid. Now it is our turn to make monies for our rescues, for those who cannot speak for themselves.

I purchased this camera in 2003 to assist me in my selling on ebay. Since then, I have not needed to purchase another. This camera does everything I needed it to do for Ebay. With the nice clean pictures it takes, It has basically paid for itself from my ebay sales. My camera is still being used to this day and still operates like new. Furthermore, it is a very durable camera as it has been dropped several times. The casing is unblemished and the photos still come out remarkable. I like my camera because I can use it at work and the photo's can be downloaded on any type of paper.I have brought three other camera's like this one and have them placed in my cars for case of traffic accidents plus safe keeping of the disk for insurance purpose or any other kind of documentation.I would recommend to anyone to buy this type of camera for any use.

Easy to use. The 3 1/2' floppy discs make it easy to use on any computer without additional software. The optional memory stick give additional storage if needed. Great camera value.

I have been using this camera for several years now and it has paid for itself over ond over again. If I ever upgrade and decide to sell it the value remains high so who could ask for more.

I use the FD-100 99% of the time for eBay auctions and the pictures are crisp and clear at this size and format. When I first started using it my computer did not have the capability for memory stick reading. The 3.5 floppy served me well until I got a new computer with card readers. I now get 30 pictures on a 16MB stick at high resolution.

I have considered upgrading to a newer camera with more mega pixels and features, but when I sit back and think about it, this is my perfect camera.

At the current price, its a pretty good steal. The camera is strong and has a good optical lens. You cant find a good deal like this anywhere else.

I love its ease of use and ability to switch from floppy disk to memory stick media storage. My major dislike is the camera is too fragile, the slightest mishap, will render the floppy drive useless!

I have this camera and will not part with it...even though I have others. I paid 499.00 for this camera about 4 years ago...It takes better macro images then any camera I have ever owned! I use a memory stick mostly, but the FD feature is great for sharing pics on the spot...It is made very well, much better then most...I even purchaed other lenses and a pertable veiw finder. A great camera...and to think how cheap they are now...WOW!

the soney camera's work great for roofing repairs, we now can take pictures of every repair before and after, that way its all documented. these older camera's are great to use, and easy. best thing sony has ever made.

I bought my Sony Mavica FD100 on EBAY about 2 years ago fairly new and for $150 dollars with lot's of extra's.. This was my first digital camera and I absolutely love it!!! My sister had the newest $800 digital dvd/cd digital camera and she hated it so she bought one just like mine and so did my mom!!! Now we all are carrying around our Mavica's and couldn't be happier!!! LOL...

I use it for my ebay selling pic's and for life in general!!! I have had over 300 pictures printed from snapfish off of this camera and they are beautiful picture's.. I only use the memory stick because my new computer did not come with a floppy disk drive (fine with me cause I love the small little memory stick's anyway's).. I have a 64mb lexar media memory stick and I can get 640 pictures on this little thing in fine mode!!!

Long story short, I have NO complaint's whatsoever with this camera and I absolutely love everything about it!!! It is incredibly easy to use and it was a well built camera by SONY!!!

I thought I got a super deal 2 years ago on this camera but now they are a lot cheaper on EBAY so (GOD FORBID) something were to happen to my baby, I will be back to EBAY to buy me another!!!!

I love this camera..the best digital camera that you can buy...I had one before, that unfortunately went out during a lightning strike..but I had it for years and it worked perfectly, with very nice pictures..very easy to use...and it makes short movies...I love the new one I've got..it was a great deal...

Great product easy to use have been doing this at work for highways taking pictures of accidents, various road projects. The pictures are used in court cases and are highly touted as valuable because of the date imprinted feature. This camera is a very valuable asset to me in my professional and personal life. /this ones a big thumbs up..

I have used this camera before and this will be My 4rd one, I just bought 2 of them on ebay, I love the quality of the photos this camera takes and with the floppy/mem stick hybrid feature it makes it so eazy to snape a few shots and review them on the computer or you can quickly copy them from the camera mem stick to the floppy or viseversa. a very versital camera for the seasoned pro or the beginer photographer, and its one of the best and most popular cameras for the ebay seller and future or current power user.

The camera is ok.. I like the fact that I can take a picture & slip the floppys right into my computer & walla it's just that simple.. I purchased the Mavica 350 & it has good picture quality but it takes forever just to wait to take any pics.. I think Sonys are good but they are a bit overrated when it comes to price including the cybershots.. In any case I am satisfied I chose what I wanted & it works.. My advice to anyone is to try out your friends camera if you like it then purchase one like it.. DO NOT choose a camera based upon what you read sometimes the reveiws can be misleading..

This was a good buy. I own a mint cond model and needed an organ donor for repairs. Saved me tons of $$ by buying this after speaking to the Sony parts dept. for replacement parts< Sony direct is out of control with their pricing so thanks for the unit. Even though it was pretty much a dead beat to hell unit, it lives again..lol

I've had one like this before. Liked it cause it's large and hard to loose or misplace like the minis. Enough pix's and other features to get good image. With the standard floppy drive in the camera, it's easy to pull up pics. Also has mem stick if available.
