THE SCREEN IMAGE IS NOT QUITE RIGHT.

After obtaining 1 new and another used they seem to have the same problem.
The only way I knew something was OFF, as I had not yet removed the 13" TV from the kitchen.
Comparing picture to picture I found that the image on the ICFs screen was not quite presenting all the material.
About 1/8" of the image at the very top and bottom of the screen was 'off the screen'.
If there was, say a news banner, it was not viewable.
Needless to say if there was a station id logo, you couldn't see it.
School closings ticker, forget it.
I sent the new one (under warranty) off to Sony and it came back the same.
My inquiry to them was answered "there was nothing wrong with it".
1/8" on a 13" screen is o.k. BUT on a 7" screen, you miss alot.
Don't try finding the answer in the Sony Service Manual----it's not there, in fact, the manual has some misinformation regarding procedures to put the unit into Test Mode for adjustment. The printed procedure does not even cause the unit(s) to respond.
This also, Sony has no answer for.
Outside of that, the unit performs admirably.
There are spatial settings for the stereo speakers that make anything produced by the unit sound quite good, if not excellant.
All in all, if you don't mind missing 'some' of the image on the TV screen, this is a very well designed unit. Add DVD capability and you'd corner the market.
