Sony has managed to bring an amazing amount of features for your Hi-8mm video recording convenience and delight. Sony's CCD-TR716 camcorder builds on its immediate predecessor in the company's Hi8 line by adding an image stabilization system. This feature is valuable when you're shooting without a tripod, and particularly at high zoom powers. Like its siblings in the line, this model features a color eyecup-style viewfinder. This camcorder offers 18x optical zoom power. The optical zoom can be digitally supplemented for a zoom factor up to 330x.You can now capture video even when you're shooting in total darkness (0 lux) using the built-in NightShot infrared system. You can capture images that would be invisible to the human eye with no additional lights. And, of course, you can always use the regular light built in to the front of the camera. Other features include a titler with preset phrases in five languages and the 16: 9 widescreen mode, which adds letterbox-style bars to give your footage a wider aspect ratio. InfoLithium Battery delivers up to 5 hours of battery life in LP Record Mode, while the optional Stamina Battery will offer 13.5 hours of battery life.
