Sony Handycam DCR TRV260

It had been many years since I bought a camcorder. Of course, they'd all gone much more high-tech since then, and I wasn't sure about all the features. After looking at different models, I chose this Sony. First of all, it is extremely light and easy to handle. The hand strap fits like a glove, and it's truly a one-handed model. It easily ports into my TV and computer for downloads, and the software is excellent. The night vision feature is great. The picture is quite clear, and the distortion you sometimes see with the audio is non-existant. I have found I can film it through a glass in the car or home and get no "splashback" or having to hold the lens to the glass. It is just easy and enjoyable. This is a great model in that it's not so ultra expensive, yet still is durable and gives great features for the money. I'd highly recommend it simply because of the ease of use!

I appears to be a fine camera. I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet, but hopefully soon. I purchased it hastily, and didn't watch the model no., I thought I had purchased one similar to it, but it should work out fine anyway. Thanks!

Digital 8 is larger than MiniDV, but the quality is about the same. I love this camera. It's so perfect for filming everyday memories. Easy operation, All automatic features, and some very basic manual settings. Nightshot is great for recording in total darkness subjects that are 10 feet away or less. Built in light is very bright, and doesn't drain the battery. Quality is best when recording on Hi8 Tapes. LCD screen is bright and sharp, the (B&W) Viewfinder is convenient for saving battery light and using your camera in the sun; but it isn't very comfortable holding it up to your eye. Overall, the camera is very easy to use, convenient for catching the moment, and the quality is excellent for a cheap digital format.

I purchased this camera to video tape my students' auditions. The camera works very well, but it is quite annoying that the tape loading system is on the underside of the camera: if you are using a tripod, you have to remove the tripod, unscrew the mounting plate, switch tapes, then put the whole thing back together again. Of course, I only use the camera with a tripod...

This has got to be one of the better camcorders of the century, I purchased this camera at Best Buy, I only wish that I had found it here on Ebay when I was in the market for one to have been able to pay the great price listed. It is well worth the money spent. I am looking at purchasing one from one of my favorite sellers on ebay as a christmas gift for my sister. I have recently seen one for only $450 on a buy it now price here on ebay. I paid almost 3x as much for that retail through Best Buy! I would recommend everyone buy one if your looking for a great camcorder this is the one. Light weight and the features are great. Not to mention it takes great movies and still shots!
