Sony Handycam DCR TRV250

I have had this camcorder for over 1 year now. It's GREAT and it's compact. I can take photographs with it and of course record then I hook it up to the computer and it's so easy to copy onto a DVD then put it in DVD player to watch on TV. I can also hook it directly up to my small TV and watch it from the camcorder itself. All the software is easy to use and I can email video or photos I can edit and fix photos. I like things that are easy and simple to understand and easy to use and this camcorder is very easy to use. It's a brilliant camcorder and inexpensive I would recommend it to anyone looking for a camcorder.

This is one of Sony’s most popular digital 8 camcorders because of its ability to produce high-resolution videos in a form factor that is easy to hold and carry. It also can be operated in the record an playback mode with the bundled Sony wireless remote controller. The built-in firewire and USB ports also make connectivity to Macs and PCs a breeze. You can also use the DCR-TRV250 as a video camera to stream video directly to your PC using the USB cable and connectors. It also comes with a set of analog and S-video output jacks for easy connection to televisions for quick playback of your recorded videos. This camcorder is very essy to use as all of the transport and recording controls are logically laid out on the top and back of the camcorder. The Swiveling 2.5” Color LCD screen makes framing video shots easy. Nightshot gives you the ability to shoot videos in total darkness. Steadyshot reduces jittery videos from hand held shooting. The 20X optical zoom allows you to get in really tight on the subject without sacrificing image quality. The 700X digital zoom also comes in handy for very long telephoto shots. Sony’s exclusive infolithium battery system is still the only system that gives an accurate readout of the remaining battery life in real-time that is displayed in both the viewfinder and the fold-out color TFT display. All in all. this camcorder will give the budding movie maker or hobbyist the biggest bang for the buck and the ability to produce high quality digital video on a no-frills budget. It is really easy to upload video to a PC or Mac editing platform by simply connecting a USB cable supplied or Firewire Cable (Optional) and loading the appropriate hardware drivers with the supplied CD-ROM.

I was really amazed at how user friendly this camera is. I mean, even if you are not a "techno geek", you can easily navigate the operation of this one folks.

I was extremely pleased with the picture quality. Let's face it, digital technology is inevitable and this one is an excellent one to start with. Also the digital noise reduction will make every sound you record just right!
If you are a little shaky, the "steady shot feature" will make your video as calm as a professional.

And if you like pictures as well as video, then simply snap photos with this camcorder and it will store them for you. Hey my absolute favorite feature on this camera is the video streaming capability!! The software that comes with is simply awesome. You can hook up the camera to the computer and watch the video as it streams over to the computer. And best of all.... you can pause the video at a special point in the video, take a snapshot of that still, and save it directly on the computer. This means that you have infinite possible picture possibilities. As you are watching the family moment you just recorded and see an amazing thing that happened and you actually got it on the tape, you can snap a picture of it!!
