Sony DVPFX810 Portable DVD Player

Sony sets the standard for build quality and design very high, and this portable player ranks right up there. The sceen can be turned 360° and lay flat against the base. The playback controls are nestled on the LCD half, making them very east to access. Plays all my burnt dvd-r full size and mini disks no matter what software I, use Linux or Windows. Battery life is nothing short of fantastic I, can watch a couple of 2hr movies with juice to spare. Comes with an adaptor cable to hook it up to a TV or flick the switch on the side to video in and it becomes a wide screen display for my PS2... very nice on long trips.

My biggest complaint is very weak audio though the built in speakers. I, thought maybe it might be a defect so I, bought another unit, with the exact same low volume, but the dual headphone jacks sound great with a decent pair of headphones. The sceen is very reflective so outdoor veiwing can be annoying, but easily fixed by adjusting the brightness and moving it around. Also the display is not nearly as sharp as would be expected from a name like Sony, its not bad but I've seen much sharper on far less expensive units.

I, would recommend buying this model for the build quality alone, it just feels and looks very sleek and rich, and I, expect to last many years as other Sony products I've owned.

i bought the sony portable dvd player to keep me entertained on quiet nights and to also relax and have a little "me" time. i was comparing prices through the web from other retailers, but once again, no one can beat ebays listings! i saved over fifty percent buying my products through ebay and they are practically new. i am rather clumsy myself so buying a brand new item and then denting or scratching it the next day wouldve been a heart break anyway. i honestly cant think of one thing i dislike about my recent purchase. i bought it from a canadian seller and thought that the shipping would be incredibly slow, but much to my surprise, it came quicker then some products shipped right here in the states. i love the ebay coupon codes ( they always draw me in) and end up saving a bundle in the long run. with that extra cash, i can always splurge on a nice dvd to go with the sony. :) thanks guys! great job as always.
