This is a player that does it all,plays back all forms of dvd.I also found the sound espect comparible to none.The player plays also sacds the regular player which is scd-xa 9000es which is selling on e-bay for 1800.00 which is very much the same as this player.Picture upscaling is almost as good as any blu-ray player.These hi-end players are getting harder to find as there are being phased out by blu-ray,not just with Sony also with all other makes(pioneer,Denon.If you have a chance have a good look
