Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P71 3.2 Megapixel

I LOVED my camera for about 3 months, then the flash burned out. The repair is more than the cost of the camera and it isn't included in the warrantee. Since this happened to me I have met at least 2 other people that have the same camera with the same problem. I still use it, it takes wonderful pictures, just only outdoors in the daylight. Please take this into account when purchasing one.

did exactly what was needed for me. took great pics, good battery life. i always liked sony products and their digital cameras dont disappoint

This is an excellent camera. The pictures are clear and crisp, the functions are easy to understand and use, and the interface with the computer is quick and easy. Would highly recommend this one!

We have had this camera for 6 years now. We were given this camera when our child was born and we have used it up until now, January 2007. I watched as cameras went from 3 to 4 to 5 to more Megapixels and did not see a need to upgrade. It is not like I am printing photos 16x20 or larger at home! Anyways, the camera skidded on the pavement and the concrete of Disney World (5 times in 2 days), fell into a puddle of water 3 inches deep, been chewed on by a 2 year old, had baby food on the lens and in the buttons numerous times. The casing has been cracked around the lens for 2 years and still takes fantastic photos. I am sure everyone is thinking, "I would never treat my camera like that!", but at the same time, each of you can think of a moment when one of those events happened to yours! All I am saying is for the amount of abuse this poor camera has suffered from, it handles it well! I would definitely recommend Sony cameras as the all around family camera.

I have had my p-71 for over 4 years. I have taken over 16,000 photos with it and it is still going strong, that was not a misprint I did say 16,000.
Newer cameras do have larger screens, are smaller & have more mega pixels but I have friends that own those newer types of cameras and they always comment on how great my photos turn out.
I did buy this camera brand new and at the time it cost me $800 AU.
That may seem like a lot of money for a point & shoot camera these days but it think that the P-71 is a well built camera that was made before camera makers began cutting corners so as to reduce prices for budget buyers. Anyway after 16,000 photos I think that I’ve got my moneys worth out of it.
My wife & I both love our P-71 & will continue to trust it to take great photos of our family.

Its a cool camera as far as cameras go its small and compact, just the way I like em.. I would say get the black one they have..

1st digital camera. Easy to use. Must hold really still when zooming- to not get blurry pic. Not a bad size.

Bought because it was a good camera at a fair price. When it arrived it looked perfect and I was pleased. However the camera did not work so I sent it back. The seller was great to work with and gave a refund.

I bought this camera few weeks ago while I was just browsing the net. I did not have any plans of buyig it but bought it because it seemed to be a very good deal. And I must say that I wasn't disappointed at all. It works great and my teenager son is enjoying it a lot.The picture quality is wonderful and it's also easy to operate. AA++++++++ product and a must have in the purse.

Like: After putting fresh batteries in it, the camera was working. The price was right.

Dislike: First of all, it was suppose to include batteries according to the write up. Secondly, the packing was disgusting. It was a thin box scotch taped closed. The camera was wrapped in gift tissue paper. The mailing label was attached to this thin box. No bubble wrap. It was amazing that this camera was not damaged in shipping. To think I paid 14.50 for shipping.

I HAD THIS SONY FOR 4 YEARS AND HAD NO BLURRY PICTURES AND IT'S SO EASY TO USE, A DUMMY COULDN'T GET IT WRONG. IF I COULD TAKE BACK THE CANON WITHOUT HURTING HIS FEELINGS, I WOULD DEFINITLEY BUY ANOTHER ONE EXACTLY LIKE THIS!!!!

It is a good camera for the value. You need a digital camera which is reasonable and can fit inside your pocket or purse very easily? This is the camera for you. It has the memory stick storage so you can virtually have unlimited storage, as long as you have the memory stick storage cards. The LCD screen is easy to see and but some of the controls are awkward. You have to learn it to understand it all, usually should take a couple of hours to do. Also the battery life is quite good, just 2 double A batteries! So that will keep it cheaper to use. Its a got good value for the money. Overall Score: 8.8/10

i love this camera, it's very easy to use and takes great pictures. the only gripe i have is that i wish it was smaller!

We have found this to be very reliable camera. It has stood the test of time and is still taking wonderful pictures.

shoots great pictures. and the resale is great. and there is nothing that i dislike about it. Sony Cybershots are the best camera out there in my opion

GREAT SONY PRODUCT! VERY SIMPLE TO USE. TAKES PICTURES LIKE A PRO! THE BEST PART IS IF YOU RUN OUT OF BATTERY THEY TAKE AA'S.

This camera is easy to use and still has lots of variables for the experienced user. The only down side: The maximum size of the memory card is 128 mb, which will give you about 200 pictures at good resolution. BUT - Sony doesn't make these memory cards any more. Too bad, because it's a really good camera.

i HAVE ONE THAT WORKS SOMETIMES AND IS VERY FRUSTRATING, THIS ONE IS TO REPLACE IT AND WORKS WELL EVERYTIME.

The camera works as if it's practically new; looks great, wanted to buy it because I was looking for a great working camera. Doesn't come with everything, but it has the important things that I need to keep it going!!! :)

Because I needed the camera, mine had quit. I will be reporting this to dispute by tomm.. what he said in the auction & what I actually received were not the same.
I got the camera & what he falsely advertised, auction read.. with the camera also there was to be 2-64mb sony memory stick & 1-16mb sony memory sticks.
So he mailed me the camera & 1-64mb & 2-16mb memory sticks.
His communication thru this has been not responding. But today -- I feel I am trying to get him to respond to me & he finally does today & he said he listed it in error & wasn't prepared to do anything about it. He also suggested I go to the store & buy a memory stick. I am very dissapointed with this seller. He is not co-operating with me at all. I have been with eBay & have never had hardly any problems. But this one will go on his record.
that is my review of this product from this seller. I will be disputing this.
