Best compact camera I've used

When I bought my first P200 back in 2005, I bought it for a trip to NYC. The pictures I took were not only awesome but the camera easily fit into my pocket. The start up is almost instant. Unlike many compacts today, it does have manual controls. You can set the shutter speed and choose between two apertures. The flash is just a little better than most small cameras so you will get indoor shots that you would otherwise miss.
After buying a Sony T100 and using it for a while, I sold it and bought another P200. While Sony is trying to keep up with the pack and add pixels and features, like other manufacturers, they are trading off photo quality. Pixels sell cameras, but there is just so much you can do with the small sensors.
The P200 gets a Highly Recommended at DPreview, which is rare for a compact. This camera can be used by anyone in the family. The photos are stunning and sharp.
The only things I would suggest are, be sure to hold it steady when you depress the shutter. The lens is on the extreme left side which makes camera movement exagerated. Also, the camera defaults to 1/40 of a second shutter speed in Auto. I usually set it to 1/50 or higher depending on the light available.
What does it compare to? I would rate it along side the Canon SD1000, SD850 or SD870 (which has a 28mm lens). But for the current price, you just can't beat the P200.
