) Although some of the interpretations appeal to me more than others in/on this cd, I say well done by/to all who have lent their musical/vocal talents to make it happen. I thoroughly enjoy listening to it, more so the upbeat songs; my favorite on this cd is Rumble and 2nd favorite is Maria......

The Songs of West Side Story - Varioud ArtistsThe CD was OK, but I bought the wrong one.
I wanted the original cast from either stage or movie and did not look at the fine print. I should have known better from the picture of the CD cover to know the difference. So it is completely my own fault

This CD was sold as a promotion by Discover Card in the early 1990s. When my CD became scratched, I searched for a long time for another one. It wasn't until I joined eBay when I finally found another one.
It is a wonderful collection of the classic songs from West Side Story but with an exciting contemporary twist. There is such variety of styles among the artists. There are fantastic loves songs that are great for weddings, rock rifts, and hilarious group efforts. It is definitely a unique and cherished member of my CD collection.
