Songs of Protest by Various Artists (CD, Feb-1991, Rhino Records USA)

To quote Yogi Berra, 'It's deja vu all over again.'... here we are in a war we have no chance of winning (Iraq) and 40 years ago we were involved in a war we had no chance of winning (Vietnam). The songs on this CD (Barry McGuire's 'Eve of Destruction', Donovan covering Buffy Sainte Marie's 'Universal Soldier', Eric Burdon's 'Sky Pilot', Phil Ochs' 'I Ain't Marchin' Anymore', The Temptations' 'Ball of Confusion', and Edwin Starr's 'War') are as relevant today as they were then. this would be a five star rating were it not for the inclusion on this CD of Janis Ian's 'Society's Child', which I can't stand.
