Best rock album since 2000? Quite Possibly
Well, being relatively uninitiated in Queens of the Stone Age, I wasn't sure what to expect. This album blew me away from the powerful opening of You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire to the hauntingly beautiful acoustic Mosquito Song.
This album is right about where I like the heaviness to be at with my music, on the border of hard rock and metal. There's plenty of great guitar solos here, but it never goes over the top to where it is musical masturbation(can anyone say DragonForce?).
In short, this is an excellent addition to any rock fan's library. To me, this qualifies as a masterpiece, but don't blame me if you don't like it. However, you'd have to be mentally unstable to not find something you like here.
