  A great CD

Every song on this album is unique in its style, one that only QOTSA could deliver.
Even 4 years after it's release, Songs for the Deaf is still a great modern rock album with songs like "No One Knows", "A Song for the Dead", "Go With the Flow", and "Millionaire".
One of the reasons I bought this CD was from watching CKY 4, where "Millionaire" was featured on the intro. A great song, a great band... great CD. Go out and buy it.

The first time I heard it I could not believe they did as good as with their s/t. They got it all : a style so unique no one could ever copy, riffs so furious. Like Josh Homme said "I don`t think heavy equals distortion, heavy is in the delivery". Well, dinner served.

What's the saga?? It's Songs for the Deaf!
Review created: 10/15/09

This has gotta be one of the coolest concept albums out there; cruising through the desert, scanning the radio with interludes of static and cartoonish DJs introducing QOTSA tunes!

Like all their albums, there is an eclectic mix on here that is sure to have something for everyone. From the radio singles "No One Knows" and "Go With The Flow" to plenty of fast and hard (and a little dark) tracks. This is a good intro to the musicianship and warped humor that is QOTSA.

If you love bands like the Misfits and the Damned, you'll probably enjoy this album. Not every song is great but those that are more than make up for the others. Overall, smooth, fun album.

I was very pleased with thisproduct, however i feel that the fact that it was an edited version should also be more efficiently advertised in the future.

I can Go with the Flow!
Review created: 12/01/08

One of my favorite CDs of all times. I love listening to it both on my iPod and on the CD player in my car. I only don't really care for two of the tracks, but Go with the Flow is one of my new theme songs. A must buy for the absolute rocker!

If your looking for some shredding guitars and whipping, speed rock. This albums for you. With a lot of screaming from Olivera(bass player) and crooning from Josh Homme(lead singer)powerly dominates this monster of an album. It's an amazing achievement for an genuine hard rock band.

One of my favorite albums! Queens of the Stone Age's music is hard and dark, but it's also extremely sexy.

Best rock album since 2000? Quite Possibly
Review created: 03/02/08

Well, being relatively uninitiated in Queens of the Stone Age, I wasn't sure what to expect. This album blew me away from the powerful opening of You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire to the hauntingly beautiful acoustic Mosquito Song.
This album is right about where I like the heaviness to be at with my music, on the border of hard rock and metal. There's plenty of great guitar solos here, but it never goes over the top to where it is musical masturbation(can anyone say DragonForce?).
In short, this is an excellent addition to any rock fan's library. To me, this qualifies as a masterpiece, but don't blame me if you don't like it. However, you'd have to be mentally unstable to not find something you like here.
