The Wreckage of My Flesh, The Nakedness of My Death
If you want a new doom metal album that is extraordinary for all the same reasons that old doom metal is extraordinary, buy this one. It has all of the gloriously depressing traits of such early albums as Candlemass's "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus", Amorphis's "Tales from the Thousand Lakes", and My Dying Bride's own "As the Flower Withers" and "Turn Loose the Swans". Death and clean vocals trade off fairly evenly, and the listener is thrust into the song due to the powerful atmosphere.
Best songs: The Wreckage of My Flesh, Catherine Blake, My Wine in Silence
