Songs For Christmas by Sufjan Stevens (CD, Nov-2006, 5 Discs, Asthmatic Kitty Records)

I never really enjoyed holiday specific music. I especially dislike media and music advertising for Christmas. If there is one thing I did not expect this season, it was to get completely addicted to a Christmas CD. Actually, make that a CD-set. If you know Sufjan, this will be exactly what you expect. This is a good thing (hence the 5). He goes greatly out of his way here to bring you a Sufjan style collection of great songs. If you are unfamiliar, allow him to bring a soothing voice, a banjo, strings, guitar, piano, an oboe and flute or two, and a set of drums into your living room this holiday season. You won't regret it. I love it, my young sister loves it, and my parents love it. Don't be put of by that either; these are just high-quality tunes. Enjoy ~
