An awsome collection of live songs, recorded during what was arguably one of Zeppelin's best performances. All songs were recorded live in a concert at Madison Square Garden. The crowd was clearly pleased by listening to their not stop chanting, cheers and applause. This CD includes what was probably the longest version of Dazed and Confused that they ever performed, totaling over 26 minutes long. Without a doubt this CD contains my favorite version of Stairway to Heaven that they ever performed. As you may know Zeppelin was famous for improvising all of their live performances so that no two would sound exactly alike, and Jimmy Page (Lead Guitar) is certainly the master at directing the whole band when it come to improvising on this album as well as other performances. Robert Plant (Vocals) throws in some excellent boogie woggie lyrics in Whole Lotta Love with a nice medley as they usually do with that song. John Bonham (Drums)was certainly at his best in Mobey Dick, in what is primarily a drum solo song, he actually plays a good portion of the song with his bare hands, symbols and all!!! John Paul Jones (base guitar) and (keyboards) is in the zone in a very good way during No Quarter, but also give much credit to Page with some tremendous work and a totally awsome guitar solo in this song.
I could go on and on about this album, but hearing is believing, so I say without a doubt thumbs up for any Zeppelin Fan and this album should turn any one on the edge into a true Zeppelin Fan.
Thanks for reading, hope this was helpful!!!
