This movie stars Christopher Reed and Jane Seymore in their early days. Christopher Reeve is still in Superman form.
This movie is about a play writer who is visited by an old woman who asks him to return to her. He is given a pocket watch which he holds onto but puts in the back of his mind.
After getting writers block he decides to take a vacation and clear his head. He ends up at a beautiful hotel that draws him in. While wandering the hotel he sees a picture of the old woman and his journey begins to return to her.
This is a powerful love story of want and need and absolute true love that spans time.
You will want a box of tissues and a soft blanket for this one, you won't want to move away from the t.v.

This video is special to my family due to the fact that it was filmed in Michigan on Mackinac Island. My children grew up in Michigan and Mackinac Island was a special place that we visited during their childhood.

As my son grew up he appreciated the plot, where the star, Christopher Reeve, as Richard Collier, finds a portrait of a beautiful woman in the hotel (Jane Seymour as Elise McKenna)where he is staying and being mesmerized by it, researches its origins to the point of being determined to find a way to meet the woman in the picture, although it was taken over sixty years ago. The concept of finding your true love in a different time period, then succeeding at time travel to reach her was fascinating to him.

We own a VHS tape of the movie, but decided that we wanted a more permanent version of the film on DVD. I had purchased another copy of this movie on DVD through another web site and to my dismay, was upset to learn that it was the European format and I was not able to play it on my DVD player, or return it! In the listing this was NOT mentioned. I turned to ebay for reliable descriptions, and honest sellers.

The movie is entertaining and thought provoking, and my family and I HIGHLY recommend it.

This movie is awsome. It makes you think about how things would be different if you had the ability to change things in your life. It is an old movie but it is so much better than the ones from today.

this is one of my all time favorite movies, it is just such an epic love story. Great acting just enhanses what I believe to be one of the all time great storylines. Both of the main stars performances were above and beyond what I expected from them.

This is my all time favorite love story..and has proven to be a similar enchantment to many others as well as myself. It has developed a fan club that still celebrates this movie many years later.

The storyline takes place in the early 19th century. The Grand Hotel was the stage in an era when live plays traveled the country. Beautiful costumes and elegance representative of this style are staged beautifully in this movie. The music completes this drama in a way you will not forget.

This speaks of a love of two people that crosses barriers of time. A young man (Christopher Reeves) spots a portrait of a famous old time actress (Jane Seymour)in a small theatrical museum. He soon becomes obsessed with her smiling face in a way he cannot explain. As he investigates her life he suddenly realizes he had met her before.

The twist is that he is in the current generation and she was from a few generations before. How they find one another again is the most touching and beautiful experience that proves that love is much more flexible, and enduring than the hands of time.

I have always been a fan of Jane Seymour and seeing this movie is for all of her fans. Old and new . . . young and not so young. I give this movie a five star rating *****

This is one of a kind movie,you would want to watch it again and again.
It would have been perfect if there was an alternate ending.

I saw this movie when I was younger and think it is the most romantic movie of all time. I had it on VHS and wanted it on DVD, so I came on E-Bay and it was there.

This movie is absolutely wonderful. It's a classic in the romance genre. I love the story, the actors, and the characters they played. Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymor have such great chemistry on the big screen. I truly felt no other actors could've possibly done a better job than these two. If you like watching great love stories, this is the movie to get!

I bought this movie because my son had never seen Christopher Reeves in anything but superman. He loved it just like I do. It is a great love story. Fantasy in reality. Christopher is truely a super man. Hard to find anywhere but on ebay.

I decided to buy it beacuse it is an excellent love story the actors are really great Christopher Reeve is really a good actor and Jane Seymore is wonderful and beautiful i had it on VHS and the tape messed up so i found it on DVD and bought it beacuse my wife and i love it.I dont think there is anything to dislike about it if you like love stories i wish they had made a sequel to it before Mr.REEVES unexpected accedent and death.

This is a classic Romance film. This film makes you believe that love is timeless and that it can overcome all obstacles. Then it leaves you wounded and heartbroken.

Some women fell in love with Christopher Reeve when he ripped off his Clark Kent shirt and transformed himself as Superman, but I fell in love with Christopher Reeve when I saw him hugging Elise's picture. Beautifully written, outstanding performances by Christopher Reeve and Jayne Seymour. The costumes are breathtaking. "Come back to me."

While viewing the DVD selections available, I saw "Somewhere in Time" among the selections. I went to my collection and noticed my copy was not there. Thinking back, I remembered, before I had moved back to Pa. I had loaned mine to a friend.
Never being tired of seeing this story over and over, I was more than anxious to repurchase another copy.
Shipping was more like express mail.

I bought this dvd because it was my partners favorite all time movie and could not find it anywhere but here on ebay! So thanks to ebay she is happy she has the movie and can watch it anytime! Ebay is a great place to find those hard to find products......Ronda

And remember that Christopher Reeve was more than just a pretty face. We feel his intense frustration as he tries and fails to travel back in time to find the woman he adores. Then when he finally succeeds and opens his eyes in the past, we share his amazement and sheer delight. This is a lovely film and might even make you greet your significant other a little more passionately at the end of the day.

This movie is an excellent love story. One of the best. This film actually moves you. Time travel to find the woman of his dreams is outstanding. You'll never find a better realistic movie than this one. This movie is a all time classic.

I saw this movie when it was in the theatre years ago and loved it. I live very close to Mackinac Island and go over every chance I get so I really enjoy the movie even more having walked the halls of the Grand Hotel and the grounds where the movie was filmed.
