Something to Be [DualDisc] by Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) (CD, Apr-2005, Atlantic USA)

After all these years I have discovered Rob Thomas hiding in plain sight. I love his voice, I love this whole CD ( and it is rare to like everything on a CD). As a result I have now expanded my library to include all of his earlier stuff with Matchbox Twenty as well.

The music is unique. Each song has an style/identity all on its own. This is not a cookie cutter album. It is a nice balance of mostly mellow peppered with upbeat, make your body wanna move kinda stuff! The lyrics are all - well, there are no sufficient words on my part to describe them except that they touch my heart.

In trying to choose a "favorite" I find that I just can't. My only question is why he is looking for "Something to Be" when he clearly already IS an extraordinary talent.

He touches my soul in so many ways. I am a new "old" fan.

I like the dual cd because you can play the music or watch a the video on the other side. The quality is great.

Every song is so good. Several have a jazzy sound with lyrics that just uplift & makes one smile. Thomas' vocals are so soothing too. Great CD from first song to the last.

"This Is How A Heart Breaks" is no doubt a good tune, but the rest of the CD was not very impressive, typical production CD never meant to receive any awards for excellence...

I bought this CD few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The CD is in a brand new condition as described! Very reliable seller, would do business with again.

I just love Rob's sexy, voice. I wanted to listen to the cd, because there isn't a song he sings that I haven't enjoyed listening to. He was wonderful sas the lead singer in Match box 20, and he's excellent on his own.

I love this CD. I bought it after going to see him live in concert and liked the music so much that I went on to Ebay to see if I could find the CD. The price was great and it was shipped right away and in prefect new condition. I play it all the time in my car and the only thing that I do not like, is that I do not have a second one for in my home! :) Brasring2003

I am not usually very "gushy" over male pop stars, but this cd is great and he is hot. I was impressed that there was a dvd on the opposite side. cool!!

Sound quality on two channel DVD PCM side is average. Good buy under $10.00 if you like his music. Some clasic songs on this disc.

Daughter received it for her 14th birthday, hasn't stopped playing it. Rob Thomas combines music adults and teens alike can enjoy. "Her Diamonds" is a great song, poignant and easy to get into. Highly recommended to all Rob Thomas fans at there.

Rob Thomas has the most amazing voice, however, I enjoy his work more with Matchbox 20. This CD is good, but It doesn't knock me out. Personally, there are only a few songs that I care for....most I could do without. Lonely No More, Ever The Same, Streetcorner Symphony and My My My are my faves. It's actually sad because as much as I love Rob Thomas' voice, this CD doesn't make me want to listen. But IT IS ok. I'm simply awaiting the new Matchbox 20 CD on June 30, 2009.

Matchbox 20 fans will embrace this but it's not for me. I can't say I didn't appreciate the music here. This is a good album...just not my thing. 3 Stars.

I had been searching for this for some time and was overjoyed to find it here on ebay for less than $5.00! Such awesome, emotional music. It speaks to my soul. There are a couple of songs that are great to listen to when your just plain fed up with someone. If you buy this, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Ordered it for my son and he can't get it away from me! great cd, quick delivery. It is pure Rob Thomas with his spectacular voice and many songs I recognized. I would recommend it to anyone who is a Rob Thoma fan!

good music but no cover and dvd on one side cd on other is not duel disc plus dvd side scratched.It's not a true dvd in that there is no performance to acompany the music just a bunch of making of stuff.

Rob Thomas has such an amazing voice! Great cd at a great price! Love it! Love it! Love it! I recommend it highly.

I love this CD. I've been looking for it in stores and it just cost too much money. For a Duel Disk at the price I got it on Ebay was a steal :-) I love Rob Thomas and have always been a fan of his. Great songs, Great CD!! A++

Rob Thomas is one of my favorite singers. He puts so much feeling into his songs and not to mention he is HOT!!!! This CD was a completely awesome CD. Streetcorner Symphony is my favorite. The lyrics have so much meaning and is something that if the world lived by;it would be a better place. All the songs on this CD rock; very few CD's I have bought I want to listen to every song but this one "definately yes."
