How to Solve your Child's Sleep Problems
I was hesitant to read Ferber's book as I'm not of the cry-it-out camp and was concerned he would be too tyrannical. I was wrong to hesitate, and should've read it sooner.
Ferber isn't the cry-it-out tyrant that he sometimes gets labeled. Instead he knows a lot about sleep, and shares it with you in his book. His 'solutions' come with flexibility, and while they may involve crying, the amount of crying if up to you if you choose one of his methods. He shares information and tips for dealing with so many sleep issues, I can't imagine that he's missed any. His 'solutions' also extend to preschoolers, adolescents, teens, and adults, and I look forward to applying them to myself as well.
I recommend this book to anyone looking to either prevent or treat sleep concerns in their families. Read it with an open mind, and sleep better because of it.
