The first half of the book focuses on the actual process of soap making, it has a lot of good information, but better more detailed info can be found in other books.
What makes this book so good is the second half which goes into almost every aspect of creating a business with your soap. It talked about subjects that I had never even thought of before. I would recommend this book for that reason alone.

) When I first ventured into the world of soapmaking, I had no idea that so many people would ask me to make soap for them. I had so many requests that I decided to make a small business out of my hobby. Unforunately, I had no idea how to do this.
I stumbled upon Maria's book by accident and I am so glad I did! The first half of the book discusses soapmaking as a craft and hobby. This information is valuable. However, the best part of this book is the second half, where the author gives very clear instructions and tips on how to start a craft business. The advice is suitable for any craft business, not just soapmaking, and has been invaluable to me since I started my crafts business in 2003. It covers subjects that I would never have given thought to - such as licenses, taxes, how to price your wares, etc.
I recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of making their craft or hobby into a business.
