Back to her original sound again

After Alanis turned out such a great debut CD I was quite disappointed with her follow-up 2nd CD "SUPPOSED FORMER INFATUATION JUNKIE" which left me unimpressed. Luckily Alanis got back on course with her 3rd "Under Rug Swept" and 4th CDs this title being her fourth. Apparently Alanis has a new CD due out soon and hopefully it will follow the trend of her 1st 3rd and 4th CD and not her 2nd CD. While her 2nd CD was well received by the music community and apparently commercially as well I found it to be quite frankly contrived and poorly thought out -- even rushed perhaps because of "the powers that be". Anyway, I didn't intend to get into her entire career so on with the review of this CD. For someone that didn't know and was listening to all of her work for the first time without the knowledge of when each CD was produced they would probably conclude incorrectly that her 4th CD was her 2nd CD as it flows together like her debut CD and sounds like the logical continuation or progression of her debut CD. In other words it is very good -- not quite as good as her debut CD, but still very good and back to her more comfortable style. Personally I think perhaps her 2nd CD was pushed because of financial considerations and it just didn't sound right to me. There may be many people out there that just loved her 2nd CD, but I was not one of those people. So consider "So Called Chaos" Alanis' REAL 2nd CD and give her a 2nd chance if you gave up on her after her chronologically speaking 2nd CD. I think you will find yourself right at home if you liked her 1995 debut release CD.
