This is a wonderful picture book for children. Raymond Briggs brings to one's attention the clarity of the fact that "a picture is worth a thousand words". I love this book and would highly recommend it. The illustrations are enchanting. A must for the Little One's library!

) I have this video and wanted to first read the story to my class. Have since decided to do the video first and put the book in our reading center for them to discover. This is a true picture book with little actual dialogue so I think seeing the film first will help them to read along and remember the sequencing of the story. This is a new winter classic right up there with Rudolph and Frosty.
