Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1994, VHS)

I recently saw this video tape (yes, I said I watched a VIDEO TAPE) and was completely blown away by how superb it is. There's a reason Walt Disney's name is synonymous with quality family entertainment, and this movie exemplifies that in spades.

This is the first ever full-length animated feature, but that doesn't mean the people who produced it were novices. At the time this movie was released, the Disney studio had been producing high quality animation for many years. Some of the Silly Symphony shorts produced during the mid to late 1930's are among the greatest animated shorts ever made, even to this day.

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs leaps off the screen in vibrant color, and how many 1937 films can you say THAT about? From the first frame to the last, it will completely dazzle you with intense characters, phenomenal songs, and memorable imagery. Every hand-drawn, hand-painted frame is a masterpiece, and there are 24 per second, 60 seconds per minute for 83 minutes. (That's 119,520 for those of you scoring at home.)

Snow White is such a magnificent animated film that it's often overlooked that this is one of the greatest musicals of all time. Such songs as "Whistle While You Work", "Heigh Ho", "Someday My Prince Will Come", "I'm Wishing" and "With A Smile And A Song" rate with the best songs from the greatest Broadway or Movie musicals. If you want a treat, check out Barbara Cook's version of "With A Smile And A Song" on her "Disney Album" (if you can find it), and Diana Ross and The Supreme's rocking version of "Heigh Ho", which is also tough to find but worth tracking down.

Unfortunately, this movie is sitting on a lot of people's shelves, sometimes even in its original shrinkwrap. The owners of those tapes and dvd's will scramble to the movie theaters and video stores to watch vastly inferior movies, while one of the greatest masterpieces of all time is just sitting there.

My recommendation - if you don't own this movie, BUY IT. A gently used copy can be had on eBay for less than the price of a cup of coffee at one of those fancy coffee joints, even WITH postage. Even the DVD, while pricey, will set you back less than dinner and a movie for two. With all the extras the DVD has, you could be busy for days.

If you do own this movie, WATCH IT. Gather up the family, call some friends and enjoy this true cinematic Masterpiece together. Preferably with some soup, some gooseberry pie, and a nice, juicy, shiny red apple.

My Grandaughter loves it, we do not have many VHS anymore but this one is in great conditon and she loves it. Great and easy transaction....

The Original, Disneys first and most loved film, if you don't own it you should. If not for your sake, if not for your childrens sake, then for the sake of your Grandchildren and theres, A DVD lasts Forever - it's like a dimond only cheeper and more entertaining. The true beauty of this film is in it's wonderful artwork and in the lessens it teaches, Like not taking things from strangers, the true worth of friendship, and that it is very easy to control a dwarf (not to mention make them your slave, they feed snow white and everything, I didn't see her pounding away i the old dimond mine....)

THE VHS WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND I RECEIVED IT SHORTLY AFTER PAYMENT. I WAS LOOKING FOR DISNEY MOVIES FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER. SHE HAS REALLY ENJOYED IT.

My daughter loves the video, in perfect condition but we don't think it was new. The tape was at the middle/end, which new video's never are. Oh well, at least it appeared new, and works like new. Fast delivery and no problems with the service.

I bought this for my son's 3rd Birthday. I was really happy with the condition that it arrived in; brand new, with plastic wrapping still on it. I also received it in a very timely manner. I loved that I was able to buy it right then, without actually having to bid on it. I loved the low price, and the only thing that I had a little trouble with, was realizing that I had to go to my personal e-mail at yahoo.com (not on my e-bay inbox or my-ebay site) to find the invoice. But once I figured that out, it went smoothly from there. I liked being able to send the seller a personal check, since I've had some trouble with the paypal process--not taking my debit/credit card info. when it should have!

My 2 1/2 year old daughter just loves this classic. I sometimes have a hard time sitting thru some of the long drawn out scenes, but overall it is enjoyable for all.

This movie is a TRUE Classic.
Once you watch this movie you will never forget Snow White, The Prince and the adorable Seven Dwarf's. (Dopey is the Best!)
The songs in this movie are fabulous. When you listen to 'Heigh Ho' you will catch yourself singing it for days.
I have this in my collection and think you will want to have it in yours as well.

the movie is playable and came through the mail okay. kids love it. the only downfall is that I got the movie Spirit way before this one and they were bought on the same day. It took a month and me reminding them it was not shipped:( the could change communication and shipping it would be an okay transaction.

It's for someone else, so I haven't used it, but they wanted a classic movie. They only had a VCR at the time so that's why I had to order VHS which isn't available in stores anymore.

I DONT LIKE THE PART OF SNOW WHITE AT THE BEGINING, WERE THE OLD WITCH WANT THE KNIGHT TO TAKE SNOW WHITE TO THE WOODS AND KILL HER, BUT THE KNIGHT DID NOT HAVE THE HEART TO KILL SNOW WHITE, SO HE TOLD SNOW WHITE TO RUN AWAY, SO SNOW WHITE RAN AWAY INTO THE DARK WOODS AND GOT LOST, BUT SNOW WHITE KEPT GOING THROUGHT THE WOODS TILL SHE CAME UPON THE LITTLE DWARFS HOUSE, AND SHE WENT IN AND CLEAN'ED AND COOKED, AND WENT UP STAIRS AND MADE UP THE BEDS AND THEN FELL ASLEEP, AND THE SEVEN DWARFS CAME HOME, AND THAT IS WERE THEY FOUND HER ASLEEP IN THERE BEDS. BUT I DID NOT LIKE IT WENT THE OLD WITCH CAME TO THE HOUSE WITH THE POISON APPLE AND FOOLED SNOW WHITE BUT SHE GOT HELP JUST THE SAME.

I never saw the whole movie and it was great.Hard to believe that a 47 year old has never saw the whole movie..But it was as I expected..I love it

When the copy of this tape broke from use and needed to be replaced, I looked on Ebay, found a good deal from what appeared to be a reputable dealer, bought it. It arrived in good "as advertised" condition; we have been enjoying it ever since.

Classic That Bears Replaying...

Whether on VHS or DVD this classic Disney film is worthwhile for repeated family viewing.

Should be in every family's video library!

this classic tale never gets old. Good verses evil good always wins. This movie is about snow white and the stepmother that cant stand the fact that the girl is prettier than her and tries to get rid of her more than once. my girls love this movie and so did i.

I'm not sure how to review this .....i will say that service was quick and the tape was in very good shape...it was also mailed to another address as it was a gift....i was very pleased with the service....but very upset with the courtsey of the seller....i never recived a feed back from them....when i sent 2 e-mails in a month-- 2 weeks apart...to inquire as to why a feed back had not been left i recived this back in return....

it has been almost 2 months and still no feed back....I left an immediate positive feed back for them.....i can understand someone being busy...i can not understand rudeness....i never thought that 2 emails 2 weeks apart as pestering.....
i guess that if you value....a positive feed back and quick response this is not the person to deal with....although as i said the shipment was prompt and in excellent condition....

It is a excellent movie. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is watched alot by my 3 year old granddaughter when she comes to visit. The VHS arrived in excellent condition and arrived promptly. I'm very happy with the purchase.

interesting book for children, hope let them read such kind of books to enhance their imagination in a very early date...
