Sniper Elite (PC Games, 2005)

A little slower game play than some first person shooters but thats in keeping with the role of a sniper. Outstanding game. Game play would put it in excellent category but the graphics could be better.

Very interactive PC game, lots of fun and user friendly. Recommended for mature people. If you are planning on ordering this game for your PC, make sure you get the DVD format.

This is not a run and gun shooter, but it is challenging and very stable. The graphics and sound are no-nonsense stark. As a lone sniper, you can end up carrying an impossible amount of equipment and get bushwacked on a regular basis on the streets of WWII Berlin. You are well equipped and ammo is generally scarce. If you are less than pure about using cheats, you'll find entering "Panzer" as a profile will give you exploding bullets to toss bad guys all over the landscape. After all, it is just a game and your money buys it.

I play it on an occasional basis to see if I can outsmart the AI, which can be pretty sharp at the higher levels of difficulty. I do wish that it permitted more saves. It is fun and I intend to keep it on my hard drive. The XBOX version is also OK.

I'm an old school player of shooter games as far back as Wolfenstien and have played them all. If you want realistic shooting, (breathing and heart rate impedance with windage and gravity), and an advanced AI in the characters that your shooting this is your game (more advanced in the PC version over the PS2 version), then this is definately your game. The game has 4 levels of difficulty. Game play can be tweaked out for even more realistic shooting by elongating the time it takes to reload, turning the rifle into a bolt action, and by turning off instant binoculars. You'll find yourself getting a bit frustrated by slowing down your own abilities, but it's good play and it forces you to make your shots count. You should also learn to play without the autolock aiming feature turned on as it is not available in the online games. The PC version plays much smoother, but use at least a 256 meg video card and a dual core processor if you want no glitching, integrated video with 3D ability works but it's slow and glitchy. The camera on bullet view is one of the coolest features you'll ever see in a shooter. You get to see vital shots leave your rifle and fly true to the enemy... very cool, but it is also a feature that is not available in the online version of the game. Complete the game in it's most difficult setting and learn to use the rifle before you ever go online or you'll get your a$$ handed to you in a hurry. Try to stay away from use of grenades and machine guns as much as you can... remember it's a sniper game, not a grenade or machine gunning game. I've played all the shooters available for PS2 and this is, by far, the finest and most realistic game you will find. I'll see you online... thru the scope... :) ENJOY!!!

Originally released in Europe on disc with a free demo on-line dowload worldwide. Some of us in the USA got the demo tried it and loved it but, we couldn't find the game in stores to buy.
The single player missions are some of the best I ever played. The enemy "AI"s artificial intellegence will always try something new or extra to kill you. THEY ARE THE SMARTEST ONES I HAVE SEEN IN ANY GAME ! It's worth buying even at full price just to get more missions than the demo. The on-line real player games need some attention, more custom maps and more weapons and fast dedicated servers.

It has Saved My Butt more than you could ever know!! the book haels you in a tight spot. it let's you know where medkits and bandages are and helps you do jour job more profenceintly!!!

For those that BAsh this game , all I can say is : did you READ the title of the game ? Yes it's old , ( 2005 ) and the newer versions were NOT made by the same people . IE , I tried "Sniper Art of Victory" similar gameplay - Much newer , SUcked ( too easy , finished in 1 afternoon ) then tried to play most difficult level and you don't have enuff Ammo to succeed in the missions .This game ( Sniper Elite) is for people that want to crawl around and (GASP*) Snipe !
Because it's old , the graphics aren't the best , but I found it a Very fun game . It has many different score tallies > Headshot , Long range , Covert , silent kill ( silenced pistol ) , Double kill , triple kill ( if they are dumb enuff to line up for you ) , double and triple covert kills in a row , ETC . EXACTLY what a sniper wants , to kill and STILL be hidden / undiscovered . If this game were redone with an additional knife kill ability and made it look as good as Assassin's Creed , WOW ..... It has an online /LAN ability , but since I got it ,,, 4 years after it came out , I am sure noone is on it .

This game is tough for most first time player(s)! Because the enemies are tough. But once you know where to go, what to do, and what to avoid then you're OK. Eventhough I had finished playing the whole game a few times at Sniper Elite level, I still want to play it all over again. It takes patience and quick sharp shooting skills to survive. Tips: plant tripwires between you and the enemies for protection in case they sneak behind to kill you when you decide to settle down on any given location for a while. Use fragment grenades to blow up trucks or eliminate tough unseen resistances when you cannot get them with your sniper rifle. I've played WWII Sniper and Marine Sharpshooter II, but this one is unmatched! All in all this is an excellent first person shooter game!

I could not play the game...they said need a pass code ...I think I get a copy from A bad seller.....

l don't like graphic at all. l thought this is a cool game. not at all. totally wrong. otherwhile, why is prices so high since it on market .

I like the game. Have been playing it for some time ago. Now I have it again. The graphic is ok the game is good.

I got this game for my son(16). He loves shooter or sniper games. He really likes this game. He said it's the best sniper game he's played. The only bad thing he could think of about this was that sometimes the controls are a little "floaty".

This day was an excellent game for people who like to strategize. It is the most realistic sniper game that I have played. I hope the makers of the game, with another one

Play it set on highest difficulty level and then its fun due to more poeple to snipe. I like the game

A very good looking game, grapichs top notch, game play good but you must have paintence.
plus its a lot of fun for a little money.

This game really captures the reality of sniping. It is somewhat realistic too compared to others because it allows you to compensate for gravity and wind, which changes constantly. If you just try to up and run and shoot - your dead meat. The only complaints is that it doesn't count for leads on moving targets, and the scope reticle, bullet drop and ranges aren't exactly what they would be. For instance, I don't think you would be having to compensate 6" for a target @ 70 yards. That's a little too much. But the game is quite fun.

Had some technical issues, but they weren't the sellers fault. Had to work with tech support at the software company to get the game to work on my PC.

I've got most of the PC war games and this is by far one of the best I've played. It's amazing how accurate they make it with wind and gravity on your shots. I haven't played it on-line yet but that should really be intersting, not to mention getting my butt kicked.

If you like sniper games this I would say is the best one I've play so far. Graphics and realism are superb. You definately won't be disapointed.
