The Smurfs - Season 1, Volume 1 (DVD, 2008, 2-Disc Set)

Like the Seven Dwarfs, each Smurf has a unique characteristic, and most Smurfs are named for that unique characteristic. Quality of DVD is great. Storylines good. Everything satisfactory. Overall, loved the Smurfs cartoons, and the kids loved it too (not for very small children, though, because there can be some scary scenes/monsters, and it might be too much for the very young)!

I LOVED the Smurfs as a kid, and since most of today's entertainment for kids is so lame these days, I've been on this nostalgia thing for my young daughters (ages 5 and 7)...Heathcliff, Scooby Doo, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, and now, The Smurfs! The Smurfs may very well be my daughters' favorite of all these. This set comes on 2 DVDs, and they have watched them over and over again. Good clean fun for all of us--long live The Smurfs! :)

I love the Smurfs!!! I grew up watching these cartoons when I was little. I bought this to show my children what I watched when I was growing up. My 11 year old and 5 year old love it. My 10 month old baby even sat still and watched some of it as he played. I love this cartoon because there is no violence in it. These days there are so much violence in cartoons and adult humor. The Smurfs has no adult humor and violence!! I think all cartoons these days should be how they were when I was growing up. I think this is a Cartoon set everyone with children should own. Also everyone who loved them as kids should buy it also. Smurfs Rule!!! I love them. Best Cartoon ever in my eyes.

I am so pleased with this DVD. I grew up watching the Smurfs on Saturday mornings. This DVD brings back so many memories of good times as a child. This video is perfect for my 5 year old. It is not violent like most of the shows on tv today. It is fun to watch together and I don't have to worry about violence or her seeing something she shouldn't. Just clean fun.

I heard they were going to release a movie in theaters in November. This video will allow my daughter to get to know the Smurfs in time for the movie.

This brings back very fond memories of when I watched Saturday morning cartoons as a child! The Smurfs were definately one of my favorites and I wanted to share this cartoon with my own 2 kids! They love it and it really keeps their attention w/ the bright colors, etc.

I love this DVD! I purchased this item because I was nostalgic and hoping the kids would be interested in watching the same cartoons I watched as a kid. I was right. The kids loved it and were completely entertained by it. This is definitely a great buy.

The little blue guys rocked when I was a kid and now my son loves them! Always a classic - they don't make them like they used to!

LOVE it and am now sharing the love I had for the smurfs with my kids....lost of fun seeing them again!....very glad I purchased and will be getting part 2 ASAP!

Original, first episodes of smurfs including the creation of Smurfette. Two-disc set makes for hours of viewing and fun!

My kids really enjoyed the smurfs. There was only one episode where they all fell in love with smurfette which I thought was a little off. But still good entertainment for the kids. BOys and girls both enjoy it. It reminded me of when I was a kid.

This is one funny DVd. My kids 2 and 5 watch it over and over. These surfs are to cute but smart. Great DVD for kids. Mine love it.

Received the DVD as promised in timely manner. Good transcation. Would recommend and would use for future transcations.

A classic TV show from back in the day. I barely remember watching this show but I do remember it being a good and funny kids show. This is a good buy and a blast from the past.

this is one of the best saturday morning cartoon classics ever just like voltron, heman, transformers, and the thundercats shows.

I loved watching the smurf when I was little. This movie is great, just like I remembered.Just better no commercials.

Just as you remember them from morning and afternoons in the 80's, this set has only two discs but many episodes, a pleasure.

I liked knowing I could still find shows/cartoons that I watched as a kid. When I found this dvd I bought it.

I loved this show growing up and while I don't enjoy it as much now, it is still a nice item to own and relived those childhood days. My kids watch it more than I do now, but the 1st season is much better than all teh later ones where teh little cousins and granpa all come in with teh extra characters. I never could stand those. It was also very nice to see how Smurfett came about. I alwasy though she was just there like teh rest of them, I had no idea that Garomel created her as evail and then she changed to nice.

Absolutely fabulous to see a childhood classic and share it with my children! The fun, adorable little blue guys are always a treat to see!

I cannot believe all the words used in this adorable Smurf land! I don't remember Smurfette being a... um... flirt(to be kind). I, for one, as a parent do not like my children using the word HATE. Grumpy Smurf uses it ALL the time. Gargamel (spelling?) is a jerk! LOL It brings back a lot of really cute memories of Saturday mornings when I would snuggle up and watch this cartoon, however, I'm not 100% sure I like the kids watching it. I suppose it falls along the line of Buggs Bunny and Tom & Jerry where they always go after each other and someone always gets hurt. I'll allow them to watch it but I will not allow them to watch it a lot. Cute, but needs some parental explanations. Had I remembered what it really consisted of they would not have had the opportunity to watch it.
