I FOR ONE AN NOT A FAN OF ACTION MOVIES, BUT THIS IS JUST TOO GOOD TO MISS. I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS AT A YOUNG AGE AND HAVE LOVED IT SINCE. GREAT FOR ANY TRUCKER OR JSUT DOWN HOME KIND OF PERSON. JERRY AND BURT GO SO WELL TOGETHER IN THIS ACTION COMEDY. THEY HAVE TO OUTRUN THE LAW IN ORDER GET A SHIPMENT OF BEER BACK IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME IN ORDER TO GET A HEFTY PAYDAY.SO MANY MISHAPS AND INTERESTING PLOTS ALONG THE WAY. FULL OF GREAT HUMOR AND ACTION. HIGHLY RECCOMEND TO ALL.

What can you say it's got the good the bad and the ugly!!! Burt is awesome as a bootlegger trying to get the girl and stay away from Sheriff Buford T Justice! I give it two thumbs up and 10 toes too!

The DVD was awesome it was great to see the movie again and now on my big TV. Now matter how many times you see it, it always makes you laugh.

Best movie ever!!! You som'bitches couldn't close an umbrella! What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.

Probably in my opinion Jackie Gleason's greatest performance. So much ad-libbing by him in this movie. One of the all time classic movies just for the enjoyment of watching Gleason perform. The others did well too but it would not of been just a great movie without Mr. Jackie Gleason.

Absolutely funny! Whether you watch this for the first time, and have lost count for watching it so many times, this is truly a 70s classic! From Sheriff Buford T. Justice and his witless son, to Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and the innocent beauty of a young Sally Field, you will absolutely love this movie!

Truly an american classic, When a challenge is thrown down to the bandit (Burt Reynolds). To make a trip to Texas, from Atlanta and back in 28 hours. Loaded down with 400 cases of illigal Coors Beer. He enlist the help of his good friend Snowman (Jerry Reed), to make the trip with him. Along the way the Bandit picks up runaway bride Carrie (Sally Field). Trouble comes calling when her future father-in-law, the sheriff (Jackie Gleason). Starts to chase them from Texas. The movie is loaded with great one liners and great preformances. Not only a great Southren movie, but a great American Classic, and one of my favorite movies.

This movie is one of the classic high speed chase comedy movies.Burt is great as "The Bandit",as is Sally Field as "Frog",and Jerry Reed as "The Snowman".But Jackie Gleason steals the movie as "Sheriff Buford T. Justice of Texas".Plus,who could forget the black Trans Am.The story is simple in this movie.Bandit is hired (really a bet) to transport some Coors beer from Texas to Georgia in 28 hours.Unfortunately, due to federal liquor laws and state liquor tax regulations of the time, selling and/or shipping Coors east of the Mississippi River was considered bootlegging, and the truck drivers who had taken the bet previously had been discovered and arrested by "Smokey" (truck driver and CB slang for highway patrolmen).With Bandit as a "blocker" for Snowman and his rig filled with Coors they set out with numerous chase scenes to follow.A great comedy movie.In fact the film was the second highest grossing film of 1977, beaten only by Star Wars.Also included the popular Jerry Reed song "East bound and Down".Give it a watch.

Only had it on VHS, needed it on DVD. Classic movie which Jackie Gleason made this movie with a great character.

this is a movie i went with my family when i was a kid and saw in the movies,
i have to say its a classic , it has trucks, an cop's, an beer a great country song in the maken..lol.. rednecks couldnt ask for anything more.. an when CB's were everything.. if you didnt have a CB in your car or trk., you wasnt cool.. to this day i have a 10meter in my pick-up trk.,
but its a CLASSIC cant go wrong..

Well I bought this movie as a present and that is why I bought it. I love the fact that it is an old movie and in a dvd form now.

Jackie Gleson is fantastick in this movie. Burt Reynolds & Sally Field are a perfect on-screen match. You will be singing the theme song "Eastbound and down" well after the movie has ended. It always makes me laugh and I never tire of watching it.

Very pleased to find the dvd on ebay because I was unable buy in our local stores. First time buyer and I was very satisfied with speedy delivery and how it arrived in perfect condition.

Thank God for Jackie Gleason or else this would have been a real stinker. Burt Reynolds -- not funny. 2.5 stars of of 4.
