Smart Parts Ion Paintball Marker Gun

Great Item, worked very well. I had to sell it locally due to hard times but got to play with it once at the field.

The Smart Parts Ion is a paintball marker that was developed by the company Smart Parts to compete against competitors in the $200 range when it first came out in 2006. It's light weight body and simplicity made it an instant hit with all paintball players.

Overall an average gun nothing spectacular but, great for anyone who wants to jump in and begin!

Good markers has very few flaws and lots of upgrades. No real milsim parts but good for speedball and fire support for woodsball. stock triggers should be replaced as first upgrade too much side to side slop. 2nd upgrade is the feed neck always get a clamping or lose ur hopper with a bit of wear. Very quite marker. Would recomend ion to any starting player not wanting to do straight milsim.

Great cheap gun. Parts are always easy to find and relatively cheap. Have had two ions and both work great and can handle any damage or abuse you may give it.

its a great marker to start painballing with.
it has already installed clamping feedneck, aluminium trigger, On/Off Custom Products ASA with purge. empire B hopper with 20+ feed rate, and a 68/4500 airtank. all this at a reasonable price!

The marker with the 360 QEV (Quick Exhaust Valve) and SP (Smart Parts) two piece barrel shoots fast, consistent, and straight as an arrow.. I bought it for my gf, but I want to trade her for my Proto SLG UL, hers performs that much better. No ball breaks after 4 cases of paint. The gun is a pain to breakdown and clean though. Be careful with your banjo fittings and eye harness when reassembling the gun. This gun is a buy for sure. Oh, and lets not forget that the ION is one of the most upgradeable guns around like most SP offerings.

I bought this gun because i want to start paintballing. I bought a deascent paintball gun although it has some minor issues i will make the best of it

Throws paint like top end guns, out the box it's an awesome marker but changing a few minor parts will make it nearly invincible.

only problem i really have with the gun is the lack of B.O.B. but still fixable if u get a body kit upgrade

The Ion is a very upgradeable marker and I love to upgrade them. I purchased this Ion to work on and improve performance and of course play with.

The ion is also very durable and and easy to maintain. It is a great starter gun for new players and can easly be upgraded to a tournament grade marker.

For anyone looking to get into paintball or wanting to upgrade I would recomend trying an ION.

He had the gun shiped very fast and got to me in great condition. The gun looks great, havent had a chance to play with it but looks and seems to run fine. The body kits and in great shape. A few marks but nothing to complain about. The only real marks on it are on the barrel and its not from being screwed into the gun.

This is my 2nd ion, you cant beet them without spending over $800. Poor mans electronic marker. Ive never chopped in my 1st marker after >8k balls.

The Ion is a great beginner gun as well as a gun for an experienced player. It's easy to upgrade and can hang with the best of them. Really haven't found much that I dislike about the gun, just a couple design flaws. I decided to buy the gun because of the price and performance for the price.

love the gun and hopper but downside is the tank that it came with had to be hydro tested but overall a good buy

Love- Its light and good for beginners, plus 17 bps is a +.
Hate- Theres not ezy bolt take out like on the Ion XE. but still saves money buyin less 1.

i have played for 7 years and there are much better used guns out there for the same price or a little better and much better quality speed accuracy. it cost too much to upgrade an ion to comete with "high end" guns wich the ion is not.it is a ok entry level rec-ball gun not tourny levl gun.

Good mid grade gun. Reliable and accurate. Have had no issues. Needs some upgrades to hang with the best. Great gun for the money.

I was looking for a bit more firepower and after heavy research, i decided on ions. i liked the weight upgradability factor, and stock modes for the board

so i get it, it shoots fine, thought the gun in beat to crap. no prob. i clean it up and take it to a scenario, crono it, and its shooting hot. a small adjustment and HISSSSS...the banjo T that feeds from the regulator is sheered in 2. Welp.

take it to the pro shop and its the gen 1 ion, never been cleaned, and its got a mirade of issues.

morale of the story, support your damn pro shop and buy a new f'ing gun.

i have one with an upgraded trigger and body, im not sure anything else thats upgraded except the barrel, i heard the stock ion isnt that bad but isnt that good. ive tried stock ions and id recommend getting the sling trigger and an upgraded barrel. one thing i want to get for it is a drop forward. i have a 56ci tank and its kinda big but with a drop forward it would be better. hope this helps
