Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PlayStation 2, 2002)

Sly Cooper may be the greatest character to come from the PS2 era. The game is great for the whole family and easy to get into. The graphics are cel-shaded so the game looks just like a cartoon. The controls are solid and one hit knockouts will keep you on your toes. Great boss battles, mixed with vehicle levels, and your usual linear platform levels all make for a game with a lot of variety. Unlockable secrets can be found by collecting bottles and they are worth the effort. The story is one of the best out there so it's worth picking up for that reason alone along with the family fun factor. I give this one my highest recommendation. A real must have. 5/5

This is the last of the series (to date). It is fun to play, although number 2 was better. There are more characters you get to play with and more fun things to do with them. This is a much needed addition to your collection.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is one of the best games for the PS2 out there! I just beat it and through the game the story line is great and never gets old or worn out. The powers you recieve from the hidden bottles help you a lot and can be fun to use, too. The characters are very fun, and the mini games are very enjoyable. I highly recommend Sly Cooper for all ages.

It's one of the best action/adventure games I've played. All those people who think this game is "too hard" or "crap" and those other strange comments.... I don't think that's true. This game isn't too hard or too easy. Anyone can play it! All the "must do" parts of the game are for those people who aren't really good at gaming. But there are lots of extra stuff for those great gamers! Like beating time trials and getting all clue bottles {which are pretty hard} in all those levels. And there are some really cool bosses starting with *spoiler*. I believe in this following comment "What's the point of a cool character if it isn't fun to play with?" And this character.. I can tell you is fun to play with. If you like sneaking around, and like playing with sneaky type characters, then you should try this game. And it's getting rare!

Bottom line:
Gameplay~4.5/5.0 {-0.5 because you die by just taking damage from one enemy and that's only one hit}

Sound/music~5.0/5.0 {because the music is kind of jazzy type and character voices are great!}

Graphics~4.8/5.0 {-0.2 becuase Sly doesn't look as... good in Sly 1 as he does in Sly 3. Otherwise I'd say it's like you being put in an animated comic!}

Overall I'd prefer this game over games such as Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter. Was I aloud to say that?.. Anyway that's my opinion. That's all Folks

I bought this game for my 5 year old. He is mostly able to play it by himself although there are a few areas that do not tell you what you have to do. It is a bit more difficult than Sly 2 but still a fun game overall. The most difficult part of the game are the time trials in the areas already cleared. Even without stopping, none of us were able to complete any of the trials. They are not necessary to the game play though, so it is just an added bonus if you can complete them.

this item was purchased as a gift for my son for Christmas. shipping was super fast, and item is just as described and factory sealed in package.

The price was very reasonable, and the shipping time was very quick. The only bad thing was that the game had some scratches on it. The game still plays; however it freezes for a few seconds when people are talking.
All in all I am very pleased with this purchase.

Just what I had been looking for. My grandson is going to enjoy this title, we have the other two. It was in great shape.

I've played this game once before and decided to buy it for myself (borrowed it the first time). Although from my perspective it at first seem less than perfect, because I have already played Sly 2, which is much an improvement of this game (graphically and gameplay), but you gotta cut this game some slack since it's what started off the successful Sly Cooper series.

This game is a fun platformer in which you have to sneak about in different ways, collect items, and open vaults all in hopes of taking back that which was stolen from Sly Cooper: the Thievius Raccoonus, a book of his familys', who are all master thieves, that held the secrets to their thieving. This book(the Thievius Raccoonus) was stolen by five nasty criminals who call themselves the "Fiendish Five". It is up to Sly Cooper to take on these five criminals and get back the pages of the Thievius Raccoonus. All in all this is a fun game with an awesome storyline and cool cartoon style graphics.

I bought the Sly PS2 game, and never received it! My check was cashed but the merchandise was never mailed to me. I bought it months ago.

This is about the poorest excuse for a product since I was sent a DEMO instead of the game that was shown. I highly suggest that no one buys anything from AIE games, it is a rip off. I have tried to reach them and had no response what so ever. As soon as I bought the game I received a generic e-mail saying that their customer service phone lines were down and thought nothing of it until I saw that the product was not what I had bought and been promised. I have gone through PayPal as well and have heard no response from them either. All in all this is a below poor rating as far as I'm concerned. I probably will not use e-bay any more as I cannot trust either of these companies they do business with to resolve a very simple problem of $6.95 plus S&H.

My son has Sly 2 & Sly 3, and enjoyed both so much that he went to EBAY to find Sly 1. Still enjoyed the game, but was disappointed with the inferior graphics - compared to the later versions.

i don't know anything about this game, but my son loves it.he played it everyday since we got it for him.
