Sly 2: Band of Thieves (PlayStation 2, 2004)

Sly is one of the best series on the market. One of the best looking platformers for the PS2. Cel-shaded graphics make this title look just like a cartoon. And this is one of the deeper story lines of any platform series or any game at all for that matter. It's just like playing through a comic book or something. The controls are just as good as the first but it is easy to miss jumps and can tend to be a little frustrating when you do miss. Collecting bottles for secrets is still here but the rewards are not half as great. Sadly all of the powers you collected in part one are not here either. But the great characters are still here and I can't just help but love the series. And now there is much more freedom to deal with than the linear levels from the first game. This can make the game a bit draggy at times but boss battles and mini-games break up the tediousness on a regular basis so you don't get bored. All in all this is a worthy sequel that breaks away from formula in a good way. Must have game that is fun for the whole family. 5/5

I rented this one before I brought it. The kids LOVE this one. It seems to be their favorite! I would buy the others in this line.

Sly 2 is a very fun game. You get to use a cross bow, paraglide, steal things, and overall play as the whole gang. One of the best things is you actually have health and you don`t get killed if you get hit once but you can be hit 4 to 7 times. The challenges are great, they`re not as hard because of the health change and the quick cane grab instead of having to hold circle to grab onto things. You get to hack computers and beat up bad guys with more fierce attacks and gadgets like the hoverpack, fists of flame, and many more. The only thing I don`t like about it is once you beat it or get to Clock-la ( A fusion of Clockwerk and an interpol agent) theres not much to do. But the game is still awesome though.

You have once again entered Sly Cooper, a raccoon from a long line of master thieves, who is trying to regain the pieces of his arch nemesis, Clockwork, and destroy them. In this game, you play as Sly Cooper and as Sly’s partners in crime - Bentley the Turtle, and Murray the hippo. The point of this game is to steal back the Clockwerk parts, destroy them, and stop the Klaw gang's fiendish schemes. There are 9 levels (On odd-numbered levels in the episode menu, wait 'til a badge appears on screen, then press square). Using Sly’s many thieving moves, pickpocket, hijack, and rig your way to the Clockwork parts by completing the games many missions. You need to use Sly's sly moves, Bentley's smarts, and Murray's strength to defeat the Klaw gang.

I loved this game (just as much as the first one), its got a decent plot lots of wit, and it never feels repetative, which is a common flaw in games. There are a lot of good things I could say about this game, but you can prety much check out any other review to hear them. The problem however is thus: you cant replay missions. once you sneak into a place to steal something you cant go back and do it again.

I suppose it would also be nice to have multiple save slots.

i liked this game because you can take more than one hit, and the plot twists as well. the reason i bought this game is to the complete the set of this title.

well I bought this game because i play the first and this was a nice surprise. this game is better than the the thiveus racounuus because the changes.

I include video games as one of my hobbies and like to browse Ebay for Playstation 2 games. I came across SLY2 Band of Thieves one night and jumped on it. Ebay's user-friendly format made it easy for me to locate this great find and I ended up with a very fun game! This game features many challenging levels for all age levels, has great graphics and just the right amount of campy fun. I had played the first Sly Cooper game for the Playstation and so I had a good idea that this sequel would be just as fun. The game did not disappoint and I hear that there is even a SLY3! I'll be looking for that one too!

Great challenges and numerous play areas to experience the different challenges. The incorporation of life-long friends/companions and a hint of doing what is right and helping others is positive feature for children to view in a game!

I am really enjoying this game. The music is cool, the graphics are cool and the gameplay is really interesting. It's what I like about games. I tire of the games where you are just walking around shooting everything or just regular platformers or even racing games. This one keeps my interest.

You sneak around trying not to be seen. You can pickpocket baddies, steal things, break things, and there are a few melee fights strewn around.

The melee fights can bet a bit long winded, but the gameplay makes up for that. My kids love watching me play it, they sneak around the house for a while after a session.

The ambiance of the game is dark...not dark like spooky, dark like everything is at night, so I have found that playing it during the day is sometimes not the best because of the lights coming in from the windows.

The game feels like an Oceans 11. It's quirky and cool and looks like a comic book. I have laughed several times and the crazy characters.

I really like this game. It made it to the greatest hits, but that just means it sold really well. I can see why.

It's mostly a ptaformer with tons of missions and a great story, and the gameplay is a little different than other platformers...ou have to sneak around. It's fun.

I bought it for my kids cuz they had the previous one. Its a nice game, but was very disapointed when during play, after some stages, the games just stalled or just hang. I guess buying those are really a risk that we take.

This game is a must for anyone who like little animals stealing treasures from other little animals. The main characters (Sly the racoon, ect.) all have funny qualities that enhance the game. Really fun and challenging at times but really easy controls. BUY IT!
