I felt like this book gave me options. It taught me about the science of sleep and offered some real "ah-ha" moments. She seems to be open to a range of parenting styles and goes through pros and cons of handling sleep problems in different ways. In the end, it's up to you. You can also follow her prescribed plan to the letter. After struggling for years with sleep with my first child, I vowed to do it better, and more sanely with my second. This book was invaluable and I feel like my second child is a dream sleeper and I got to retain my parenting style.
