The Sleeping Dictionary (DVD, 2003, Widescreen)

This was an amazing movie. I had heard about it from a friend, but I was never able to find it in any new or used store so I turned to ebay and was able to find it. The movie came I watched it and loved it.

Loved the movie. Beautiful scenery, good story of forbidden love, colonial Britain in southeast asia and the British knack of ignoring the obvious. A lovely and sexy Jessica Alba rounds out the picture.

I love this movie. It has everything in it, action, adventure, suspense, as well as a wonderful love story! Highly recommended.

this is a great movie, ive seen it several times before buying this dvd. jessica alba is so beautiful in this movie, but dont get to excited just yet, she uses a body double in the topless scenes. none the less this movie is like a fantacy. all i or any man has ever wanted was to live in a tropical paradice spending all your days making love to jessica alba. if youre a sucker for romance then you have to add this one to your collection, this movie is right up there with the notebook. this dvd was of good origonal quality, it was not a bootleg. there are no preveiws the dvd goes straight to the main page when you put it in. and the delivery was quick.

I bought this movie at a friends request and watched it with them. I would recomend this as a date movie. It's romantic and sweet. It's a perfect timeless love story.

I thought this was an excellent love story. Jessica Alba was gorgeous in costume, ans quite surprisingly was very good in her role at such a young point in her career.This film was shot in Malaysia; so the sceneray was beautiful. The acting was good all the way around; especially the native people they played their roles beautfully. Bob Hoskins was also very good as the man in charge. A surprisingly good movie. I would recomend it.

You are very fast. It was exactly what I wanted. It did have a deep scratch on it but I cleaned it and it does work with a little stick. Next time tell people when it has scratches. Also you can put a packing peanut inside to assure it does not move. Thank you, francinez

One of Jessica Alba's earlier movies. It's listed as a classic film today. Gets better reviews now than it did at the time it was released. Shot on location instead of a studio or attempt to simulate at a local site. The Sleeping Dictionary is one of those few movies you can watch over and over and never get tired of it. If your looking for nudity, its not going to happen. Remember, Jessica has a NO Nudity clause in all her contracts. Her work stands for its self. Good for her!

She is the real deal! She not only is so gorgeous but she bubbles over with charisma and goodness. These traits are also seen in this movie. It is most definitely a must see for all of Jessica Alba's fans.

A good rated B film. One jessica alba's first films but you couldn't tell from her acting. Good story line great acting.

I saw a 3/4 of the movie on a cruise to Jamaica, but had to leave for dinner. I couldn't wait to return from cruise.....so I could purchase movie and find out "HOW DID IT END???????" The movie was filmed on location. It was such an interesting Topic, I wondered if there actually WERE Sleeping Dictionaries back in "the day"! Jessica Alba did a great job in this part......considering alot of people think she "Cannot Act". This part was PERFECT for her. Bob Hoskins part was great! It was an informative, fairly erotic, well acted movie.

I recommended it to my 23 year old daughter (who NEVER sits through a whole movie). WE watched it........and she enjoyed it so much that when she went to visit my 22 year old daughter at college (SHE is a total Movie Buff like me)....they rented it, watched it and LOVED IT!!!!

THAT is saying ALOT.....when two gorgeous College Girls would rather watch "The Sleeping Dictionary" instead of going out PARTYING!!!!!!

The main actor in this movie is great. Alba is miscast but still beautiful to look at. If you love jungle love stories, this is one of the best. I bought it and am glad to have it in my collection.

I have finally seen the movie...wasnt suprised of how the quality of it was. low budget most people never even heard of this movie. but for the way it was made and the horrible acting it was still a descent movie to watch with your girl...
