| Movie Description A beautiful princess born in a faraway kingdom is destined by a terrible curse to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep which can only be awakened by true love's first kiss. Though the titular princess is on par with the rest of Disney's essential heroines, most of the fun arises from the trio of charming fairies entrusted with her care: Flora, Fauna, and Meriweather. Meanwhile the evil Malificent may just be Disney's most chilling villainess. This classic makes wondrous use of Tchaikovsky's same-titled ballet score, which earned SLEEPING BEAUTY an Academy Award nomination for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.

Reviews  Disney VHS- Sleeping Beauty I LOVE all the original Disney movies on VHS. I never buy DVDs because they are 1. more expensive and 2. they do not have that old school feel to it. Santa had to write my four year old a note that explained the North Pole was out of Sleeping Beauty movies and that he would send one when they got more made. Also, the clamshell case the movie came in was totally crushed and had letters written all over it in permanent marker. I know I bought a "used" VHS but I didn't expect it to be destroyed. She decided she wanted to be Sleeping Beauty for Halloween this year (even though she had never seen the movie) so I found one online to purchase thru eBay. I like this movie because I remember it when I was a kid and it really makes my daughter happy watching it! The only thing I can think of that I dislike is that it is in VHS instead of DVD; because the cheapest I could find the DVD was $35...evidentally they are in the Disney vault for longer and the ones out are considered collectors. :o) Review ID: 10000000004721747 Was this review helpful?
