Good DVD , Love the Indian humor as it actually happens in real life situations. I like the portrayal of real NATIVES on screen.

Skins is a wonderful movie and handsome Graham too!!!

Skins is a wonderful movie. The setting is the poverty stricken yet culturally rich Pine Ridge Reservation of the Oglala Sioux. It is a story of a family and it is a story of our country. I loved it because it was also a movie containing characters with internal conflicts of every imaginable sort. Of course, being that handsome Graham Greene plays the drunken and conflicted character, I ordered the movie immediately. I found myself connecting with many of the movie's characters. It's a must-see for an intelligent movie goer who wants to experience an interesting plot and well developed characters. Mary Paddlety

  Teaching Reality Tool

I bought this movie because I am Native American in Native American ministry. I try to study all aspects of different Native lifestyles. This movie is about Pine Ridge Rez, a place I am currently interested in helping. The movie shows aspects of life on this Rez in it's raw reality. I would like to know how best I could help at Pine Ridge. Therefore, the movie was not just for personal entertainment, but as a teaching tool for myself and those who work with me. I appreciate the stark reality of this film.

Very well cast movie with excellent performances. Very poignant and touching. Deals with the problems that plague the reservations today. A very moving film that deserves more attention.

This movie shows the TRUTH about America! I wonder why nothing like this is shown in Social Studies classes? Great actors showing life on the Rez.

Skins Native American Indian Pine Ridge South Dakota
Review created: 02/11/09

It has actually been awhile since I have seen this film, but wanted to add it to my collection as there is no nudity or sexually explicit material in it. That is rare nowadays. If that is your thing this movie is not for you. It deals with life on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Alot of it is harsh reality and Graham Greene plays a wonderful part in it. If you are a Graham Greene film this is DEFINETLY A MUST SEE. You will be thinking about the film long after you watch it.

Great movie but not for kids

I was told about this movie on a trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation but could never find it. Finally found it and watched but is not for kids. Very eye opening to see this and how people live in our country. Yes I know it's a movie but still very good.

Inspiring, refreshing, Spiritual----In todays scene, with all the "so called Reality" shows, and insignificant uninspiring movies----This movie-SKINS--is a much needed TRUE REALISTIC VISION of people, sharing todays problems of alcohol, addiction, in a human, heartfelt way. This is a movie to be shared-All the actors, actresses, and extras did excellent work. My only complaint is that there aren't more movies along this line in the mainstream of society today, as there is a definite need for it----Hoping there is more to come from this talented director, producer, and crew!----AAA+++

  You'll Like It!
Review created: 08/10/08

Because I like these actors, I purchased "Skins" and I'm glad I did. I watched it twice before making any judements, as it has a dark side. I appreciated the family loyalty, which at times took a beating, the comedy, and the tragedy. It's well worth seeing.

Skins - good movie, not for kids

It was a good movie that helps understand the situation on the reservations. It was sad in parts - mostly because it reflects real life. Great acting and I'd love to see more Native Americans in films.
