Than this is the book for you. Pretend Rush Limbaugh mated with PETA (yes, the whole organization) - these two could be their pretentious, overbearing daughters, with an extra heaping spoonful of bully added to their personalities, as well.
They write as if their readers are complete morons. I can appreciate their straight talk about the food that we eat, and I found some of it informative and even, at times, quite funny. However, I don't appreciate reading that I need to get my "cankles" to a health food store. Their assumption of their reader (fat, slob, pig, etc) is not particularly likely to help those that they are presumably trying to help. As everyone past elementary school knows, bullying is not a very effective way to promote change. At any rate, it's easy to see that they are just trying to cause hype to sell more books. It might work.
I don't think that the general population will be able or willing to follow the extreme way of life that they preach. They should be writing for an animal rights newsletter, because most of the book is based upon your need to be a vegan, complete with gross-out animal product stories. I can understand where they are coming from - I am a vegetarian too, and I get grossed out by meat sometimes, but I wasn't reading this book to learn about animal holding and slaughtering conditions.
If you like being yelled at via paper, or if you think you would enjoy a restrictive dietary boot camp, then by all means you might enjoy this book. Otherwise, save your money. I was very thankful that I got this book from the library - it isn't worth the money.
