I Loved the humour in this book. It has really been helpful. I lost 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks. Ive never been able to lose weight on a diet. I always gained the weight right back. You already hear people talking about having to make a life style change to be able to keep weight off. This book actually helps you make this decision.Something That I thought was hard is actually Simple.
8 MONTHS lATER. MY CHOLESTEROL IS 178 and Befour it has always been over 250.

  Do you like being patronized?

Than this is the book for you. Pretend Rush Limbaugh mated with PETA (yes, the whole organization) - these two could be their pretentious, overbearing daughters, with an extra heaping spoonful of bully added to their personalities, as well.

They write as if their readers are complete morons. I can appreciate their straight talk about the food that we eat, and I found some of it informative and even, at times, quite funny. However, I don't appreciate reading that I need to get my "cankles" to a health food store. Their assumption of their reader (fat, slob, pig, etc) is not particularly likely to help those that they are presumably trying to help. As everyone past elementary school knows, bullying is not a very effective way to promote change. At any rate, it's easy to see that they are just trying to cause hype to sell more books. It might work.

I don't think that the general population will be able or willing to follow the extreme way of life that they preach. They should be writing for an animal rights newsletter, because most of the book is based upon your need to be a vegan, complete with gross-out animal product stories. I can understand where they are coming from - I am a vegetarian too, and I get grossed out by meat sometimes, but I wasn't reading this book to learn about animal holding and slaughtering conditions.

If you like being yelled at via paper, or if you think you would enjoy a restrictive dietary boot camp, then by all means you might enjoy this book. Otherwise, save your money. I was very thankful that I got this book from the library - it isn't worth the money.

  This book doesn't mess around!
Review created: 06/07/07

The authors of this book tell it like it is when it comes to the food you eat and the direct result on your body. This book is pretty graphic when it comes to the meat industry and encourages the reader to not only stop eating meat, but to cut out all animal products all together. While being a Vegan isn't practical for some people, the book will still make you think twice at the food store and you might just find yourself making the better choice. Quick read, adult language, good advice.

If you never want to eat or drink ANYTHING ever again, this is the book. The language is very offensive which questions the integrity and knowledge of the authors. Why do we need 4 letter words to get a point across if our point is legitimate and correct? The language took the credibility away from the authoes. The book went into the trash.

Skinny Bitch... Vulgar and Funny, But not realistic.

You have to definately have a "raw" sense of humor to read this book. It is often written in quite vulgar terms. I did get a good laugh out of alot of things they say. However, I just think that its unrealistic diet plan into making one a "skinny bitch".

Read it for the humor and some good pointers. But don't take it to heart.

If you are ready for change...

then buy this book. I originally bought this book for its quick, raw humor and catchy title. After reading it in 2 days, I became a vegan - by my own choice. And then, I read it a second time. This book is an eye-opener for the food you have been putting in your body and information in the book is cited from research, journals, etc. If you are ready for a change in diet and are ready to lose weight in a healthy way, then read this book. I don’t know how anyone could not become a vegan after reading Skinny Bitch!

I liked it because it doesn't beat around the bush.
If you wanna get skinny, you have to work at it - no lazy miracle cures!
I DON't like the way they cursed so much. It seemed a very moronic attempt at sounding tough and serious.
yeah, whatever...
This book gave me the fuel to go vegetarian, and I have been vegetarian for 5 months and I LOVE it!

  Skinny Bitch "lifestyle"
Review created: 06/18/08(updated 06/18/08)

What I liked- These women are very straightforward when it comes to making their point. I LOVE that. They did not "sugar coat" anything- no pun intended!
They also blow the whistle on our government agencies that are supposed to protect us while they are really just lining their own pockets without regard to our health.

What I didn't like- I do not agree with a total vegan diet. They are 100% against all animal products. I believe if you are smart about what types and sources of animal products you choose, you can still be a "skinny bitch."

I bought the book because I heard it was a good book. I also and tired of being an overweight woman and needed a little bit of a pep talk to get me inspired to do something about the food I eat.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is ready for a change in food choices, and who is also strong enough to be be insulted like a new recruit at basic training. They do it in a very amusing way!

I am glad I decided to borrow this one from the library instead of supporting these crude whackos. The quest for good health via various life style changes is important. The information on the mal treatment of animals is profoundly thought provoking. Even with the positives this book was a piece of trash. The tacky humor and the whole idea of being a bitch is hardly what a balanced female would want aspire to. Why not be a thinner and fitter person who is saavy about food choices? There are few among us who want to be clubbed and brow beaten in order to make changes. The authors are surely bitches, albeit smart ones. If the idea of being a bitch at all is offensive, find another book. If you want to be skinny and not a bitch then find a good book on veganism and work at it.

This book will change how you think

I initially purchased this book for it's hilarious opening, but as I read further I was very impressed with the substance behind it. This book promotes a healthier way of life, through veganism. True, they ask you to give up a lot, but the authors also tell you why certain foods are bad for you. The science behind all this and the facts included are what make this book stand out.And in between this facts there is some very clever and funny writing. I would reccommend this book for anyone who is interested in making a change in their life. It makes you think before you eat, and it gives you the information to make an educated choice when you do. Even my guy roomates learned from it,and no one loved it as much as my boyfriend, which is saying something.

I first bought this book in the health section of a bookstore and loved it so much I loaned it to a couple of friends (who also loved it). I decided I needed another copy just so I could loan two at a time. I could use ten..I think everyone should read it. I know six people who've read it, and each of them has made huge changes their diets. If you're you tired of not being happy with your weight, self image, or diet, this book is definitely for you.

This book is straight to the point and tells it like it is...there is no BS! Dont pick up this book if you really dont want to be told what you're doing wrong in a very forward manner. The authors make their advice very clear and easy to understand, and I feel guilty now every time I am tempted to fall back into old habits and ignore their advice! Great, fast read.

This book will change your life. I was very intrigued by many of the details I found within the book. The seller shipped quickly and the book was in great condition. The soft cover was barely worn and the pages were white, clean, and crisp. I'm so glad I purchased it, thanks again.

Great book for girls who need some motivation to get healthy! Plus, you'll be laughing out loud through most of the book. It has several citation sources, so these women know what they're talking about. It's very informative and educational, yet fun and an easy read. There are grocery lists and lots of recipes and ideas that make it really easy to get you started. And even if it doesn't make you laugh out loud, at least you'll have a kick-ass body! If you want to be healthy and eat right, make this your new Bible.
