Skin by Ted Dekker (2007, Hardcover)

Good read! He provides a good feel for the characters without rambling on for pages with random details. This is the first book I've ever read by Ted Dekker, and now I'm on the hunt for more. Without giving anything away, I just have to say this guy knows his stuff, and conveys intricate concepts with ease, and without making me feel patronized as a reader. Fast paced from the start, I was kept guessing all the way through, and what I initially assumed predictable gave me a sharp slap on the wrist later on. And I was pleased to be wrong!
Where he could have too easily made this book draw too many similarities to certain mainstream Sci-fi concepts, I felt he successfully avoided that. I did feel like I didn't get to know the deeper inner workings of the characters as well as I would have liked, but I'm left with the hope that there's a grander plan by the author that will eventually lead to the satisfaction of that. I plan to round up more of his books to help me get a better feel for him. So good to find another author who makes his work worth spending time on.

Once again I am captured by a fast moving, gripping mystery. I find myself wanting to go just a little farther before putting it down. Which does have to happen once in a while. Highly recommend this thriller and others by this author.

I got this book for my son-in-law for his birthday. He loves to read interesting, on the edge of your seat books, that are fast paced and keep you so caught up you can't put it down until it's all finished. This is his third Ted Dekker and is now his favorite author. He is such an awesome author that keeps you in suspense and ends with a twist you never saw coming. Everything he writes is worth reading.

I really enjoyed House by Ted Dekker & Frank Peretti, so I tried a book from each author, this being the one from Ted Dekker. I was very disappointed. It kept my interest, although I felt it was a very unrealistic plot line. I had a hard time staying on track with the characters at times. The ending proved to be very disappointing. I think I was hoping for something a little more creative than a video reality thing. I think it was Frank Peretti's writing I enjoyed in House. Read a few of Peretti's novels and really enjoyed them. Not feeling it with Ted Dekker.

Shipping was prompt and the book was in excellent condition. This was my first ebay (half.com) purchase and certainly will not be my last. I will without a doubt plan on purchasing more books from GiGi's Attic.

As an avid Ted Dekker fan, I was missing his latest work. Since I've enjoyed buying off Ebay, I thought I would try searching for books. Lo and behold, the book I needed as listed.


If you love suspense, flavored with Spiritual themes rumbling below the surface, you need to read novels by Ted Dekker. "Skin" continues the great list of works by Ted.

This is one of my favorite Christian fiction authors because he knows how to keep the mystery going throughout the story and surprise you in the end. Skin was not any different than his other books in that respect. It starts out with strange circumstances that cause a small group of people to meet and they spend the next few days trying to unravel a horrible sets of events that happen all around them. I bought the book because I loved Dekker's other novels and this one did not disappoint. You will find yourself not being able to put the book down and wondering when your next break is so that you can read another chapter.

What a disappointment. SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. Can't even find the interest to finish the book. So like many of his stories; he needs to find new story lines. Won't purchase any more books from this author sad to say.

This was a good book that kept you guessing! It really keeps you thinking even after your done reading.

One of the very best by Ted Dekker!!! Lot of twist and turns, fast paced, exciting right to the end. Every enjoyable read!

I bought the book because I love Ted Dekker's writing. I was excited that I was able to get it on ebay and pay less for with shipping then I would have paid in a bookstore to get it. It was in great condition and the price was right. There wasn't anything that I did not like about it.

This book was good - but not great. Thought the ending could have been better and less confusing. Worth reading once.

As with every Ted Dekker book, this one leaves you wanting more. I highly recommend Skin, and every other book Ted Dekker has written.

Super fast delivery, price was fantastic and the book was good too. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Alot of words to say what could have taken half the page count. It's ok, but it isn't exactly origional. Victims are always victims who can't seem to help themselves so they play the killers game.

I LIKED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.HE IS MY FAVORIT AUTHORS BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I KNEW IT WOULD BE GOOD ,IT KEPT ME GUESSING UNTIL THE END.
